And fluctuates through the Rev range. Sounds like I have a lambretta stuck under the car.

Didn't do it before cats changed. Did grease the uj at the same time. No play in them then. Car performs as normal. I have original cats so will be swapping them back to eliminate. The noise is definitely linked to revs.

https://vimeo.com/133266524 Any ideas on what this noise is? Only happens when driving along with revs above 2000. Doesn't happen if rev engine in neutral. Could it be something in the cats? As just fitted some used sports cats. I thought it was the exhaust banging on the cross member but...

Engine Mounts - Best place to jack engine up from?

Lol very true. I've always jack on sumps before when supporting engine etc. my main concern was if it broken the seal on the sump. But if it does then no biggy.

Engine Mounts - Best place to jack engine up from?

Yes I have piece of wood to spread load and rubber pad for well padding :). I only want to lift enough to get the mounts out. So length of the thread bars so only 3/4cm at the most.

Engine Mounts - Best place to jack engine up from?

well I thought of that as i don't have one been reading up on the matter and it seems people just use a jack and lift engine enough to get the mounts out. One person said he used the oil reservoir. Just wondered if anyone done it on here.

Overheating under load, solar sensor error & occasional over heat at idle

Thanks for suggestions, I did wonder about testing it again, I guess you just assume it must be working as its new. Rad is clean, air con condensor is new. I will check the v fan in the morning and see if its working properly. Cheers

Viscous Fan clutch Gone, overheating at idle only. Advice before i replace everything

Well I did have it error free for 2 days.. that's an accomplishment. Now I've just removed the v/Fan.. seemed to easy, adjustable spanner on and quick tap to the left with my hand and its undo... should it be that loose? Does the tightness of the nut affect the operation?

Viscous Fan clutch Gone, overheating at idle only. Advice before i replace everything

Hi All Gems 1998 4.6 83K overheating at idle. So far I have replaced all coolant hoses and thermostat, coolant has been refreshed twice. I don't have any issues when moving, only when sat at idle with bonnet shut, temp slowly creeps up to Hot. I'm thinking Viscous Fan Clutch is...

    Steering Box knackered?

Well wammers it isn't for sale. Haha. I couldn't quite believe it. Garage only adjusted the toe on the front. Was only slightly out. I think another factor is its been a while since I have driven one of these. Been in very stiff modern cars lately. Able to throw around corners without...
