Well im doing the work at a friends workplace so used his tool:electric jobby. Ive been removing surface corrosion and bubbles. Very satisfying but quite hard work. D

Dismantling my 110 i found the capping strips between the tub and the side panels were bonded with strong sticky tape prior to rivetting. Was this as a water barrier or to prevent disimilar metal reaction? Why was this done...? Enormously strong tape. Does it need replacing as I add new...

I'm removing paint and corrosion etc from my 110 prior to respraying. I am just wondering if there's anything not damaging for removing very crusty blistered paint inc aluminium corrosion from corners?? I mean chemical rather than emery cloth! David

I have a 1988 110 csw and im just thinking aloud...given the demonisation of diesel and the fact that my mates 110has a v8petrol on lpg, how feasible is it to swap my td200 for a v8 petrol (or other petrol) engine? Is it a chassis change or somewhat simpler? D
