As daft as it sounds as it sounds, have you checked bulb condition?

Previous owner to my knowledge but it's not fresh but zero corrosion, lasted longer than the hosing which i've replaced. If you are really concerned about heat dissipation, have you considered getting it ceramic coated?

It would help if you indicated what vehicle you own, In my 200TDI the Turbo to Intercooler pipe is stainless and not coated in anything, that's how its staying.

I had a similar issue to this, and yes it was an earthing issue, ensure all contacts are free from oxidisation as you'll be surprised how much of a ball ache it can cause especially if it the last thing you check after hours spent looking at less likely culprits.

Depending on model you'll have to reference the live from the hazard switch. 200TDI especially loops from the female connector of the switch to the spade connector located on the side of the switch, This also if I'm correct would be the tell-tale live to the dash but if in wiring diagram loops...
