Doesn't look that bad mate. Turbo shaft floats on/in oil a bit so some always gets in. Does the car drive well and does it use any oil? If yes and no just give it a clean and don't worry to much.
Plenty of other issues await you I'm sure ;)
How did the clutch get changed?
If nothing broken it will need bleeding. They are crap to bleed, search and I have given methods to bleed a few times recently. Basically means pumping the peddle 10+ times and letting a timely amount of fluid out, top up and repeat
This seems to happen a lot when clutches are changed in TD4s.
It may be possible to get clutch action back if you bleed by pumping 10-15 times then open the bleed nipple a tiny bit for a second and repeat. If you search I have explained the procedure I use a few times but basically as above and...
In gonna cause a ruckus, get over it guys they are perfectly fine and the 4x4 one is not at all bad off road.. Same was said about the l322 and now we all love them!
Read up on the Nissan sites, Nissan put lot of effort into the green credentials not like Toyota hybrid of old. If you really want to be green you ca pay a bit more for an all green electricity tariff:)
Go for it, we did and love the leaf. Actual range is about 80-90 miles but it works very well and it's a lovely car! I hear it's better range in the warm
We kept the Freebie for occasional play:)
I guess resistance is not a guarantee that the VCU works if it's a dodgy unit. Any photos close up of the weld round it?
I have rarely heard of an ird failing rear drive with out making noise and generally being buggered.
Ultimately you may have to jack up all 4 corners and drive the wheels...
So to clarify, when the only jacked up wheel is a rear wheel you apply a constant pressure to the wheel and it only slowly turns? If it's free the VCU is not working in an open circuit sort of way. Believe it or not some people sell VCUs that do not provide rear drive at all. Can you video...
Oil change all round is a good idea, engine, gearbox (read instructions!), ird and rear did. Dont just change the VCU test it first it could still be fine, auto seem to last longer and my VCU lasted longer
Has the slave cylinder leaked fluid? Could have contaminated the clutch? Or maybe just unlucky and the clutch is end of life? My bet is on contamination
