    Dumped autobox oil

Read the post. I said the gearbox won't be damaged because it has a failsafe in the form of a pressure switch. I didn't say it could run without oil. Get a grip guys!

    Dumped autobox oil

Tony, Keith? Whatever the name? Its all the same, dare to disagree with a 'Senior' member and you get personal insults. What is a forum for? To increase your number of posts quicker by using sarcastic 'one liners' to people with less experience? If so, then Datatek is a king! This goes back a...

    Dumped autobox oil

Thanks Tony, can always count on you for the low blow.. I didn't say it would drive without oil. I said damage would occur if the pressure switch were shorted out. You barrack room lawyers can give it out but you certainly can't take it:D

    Dumped autobox oil

Should be fine, the 'losing drive' thing is the fail safe. There is a pressure switch which if not 'made' effectively takes the box out of gear. The only damage that might occurr would be if you shorted out the pressure switch and forced the gearbox to drive without oil. Also, heaps of oil will...

EAS Saga finally over. One month of humbling education.

Might make you smile. I had an EAS fault after overloading a trailer which has had a string of repurcussions that shouldn't happen to any man or beast. First thing was I couldn't find Datateks cable that I purchased a few years ago so I bought another one on Ebay - didn't work. Contacted Datatek...

Why are my Number plate lights on all the time?

Hi. Thanks in advance if anyone can help me with this but why would my number plate lights be on all the time? No tail lights are on. Is it some kind of warning if the tailgate is open? I cant find a switch that would activate it. Thanks.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Changed the thermal link in the EAS compressor. Now have fully functioning system. Managed to cook thermal link when testing compressor. Should have read and digested all previous posts and How To, I shan't be doing that again!

This RAVE is driving me Bonkers !!

I'm fairly sure that I'll be corrected, but it sounds to me like you haven't fully downloaded it. The full download is a massive file and takes a good 30 minutes on a normal speed ADSL line. That would be the starting point for me. Good luck.

Wammers - You are the man!

Just a quiet thank you Wammers, for something you know nothing about. But, just by reading through most of your relevant posts and 'how to' stuff. I've solved a series of problems without fuss or drama. Your replies are not cocky or designed to undermine our confidence. You take time to fully...

    Another EAS problem!

Yes, Ive checked it now. Its a comms issue definetly. I see that there has been some discussion on the use of Windows 7. I've tried all versions of windows and all different comms ports. The annoying thing is I can get the Good Idle message up, but as soon as I try another command it goes again...

    Another EAS problem!

Thanks for that. Yes, I've checked all the plugs for corrosion. If I don't drive it, it doesn't sink down to bump stops, so I'm fairly sure there isn't a leak. Any other ideas? Cheers

    Another EAS problem!

Hi guys. Here we go again.... Put a heavy load on the back of my 1998 money pit and the EAS started complaining. Ran for a few days but then sank to the bump stops as per usual. Hooked up my cables and connected up the EAS software suite (getting quite good at this now) But, I can't get the...

Brakes again! I swear this problem is unique!

Thanks defender, yep I went through the bleed proceedure as per the Rave instructions. 5 litres of brake fluid later, with the pump running quite a bit, and the brakes feel really good. Still get the solid pedal after a few minutes and then the flashing lights with ABS light solid. Thanks all of...

Brakes again! I swear this problem is unique!

Thanks Dude, should have mentioned I'm originally from Yorkshire. The ECU was 30 quid plus postage from ebay and I bought the master cylinder for $300 around 200 quid. So, I'm quite happy with expenditure so far. Nanocom comes in at abot $1000 here. Cheers.
