I checked my front bearings today and they both have play again. Am I to assume that both the stub axles need replacing or am in doing it wrong?

I've bought some proper 8mm fuel hose rather than the crappy silicone thing that kept splitting. It seems to be working now. Thanks

Measured mine... 55mm I'm afraid. Are you sure the rust on the body bit hasn't just bubbled up and making it look less? Just a thought.....

It's fairly easy. I've done quite a few. More on 70's beetles. Thin shoe lace type stuff or bailers twine. I always wrap the cord around the screen twice so if it misses a bit I've got another go. When you pull the cord you have to try and do it in a circular motion or you can cut the rubber...
