    Pollen filter

Hi All, Can somebody give me the part number for the pollen filter in a 2006 facelift Freelander TD4. I ordered one over the Internet form a company who said it was the right one but when it arrived this morning I found it to be to small, smaller than the one that's already installed.

Hi ClarkKent, where did you get your new GKN VCU and Bearings from if you don't mind me asking and at what price ???

    VCU sellers

Thanks for the reply Hippo, very helpful. Yes I'm one of the worriers who listen to the advice from all those re-conners. My hippo is now nine years old with over 84000 on the clock so yes I am a bit concerned whether I should change it or not. As I said I don't go off road so no excessive...

    VCU sellers

Thanks for the reply Teddywood1, I'm thinking on the same line as you, it's done over 84000 miles now but reading the recommendations it's suggested the VCU is changed at 70000 miles. I don't want to change it if I don't have to but what worries me is damage to the IRD or Diff should anything...

    VCU sellers

Hi, good point about the GKN VCU didn't think of that lol. The bearings are GKN ones as well so I know they are good having changed my bearings a few years ago. I had a garage change the bearings before this and they must has put cheap bearings on as they didn't last 12 months so I changed these...

    VCU sellers

Hi All, Has anybody purchased a brand new GKN VCU + GKN Bearings from Land-Rover Transmitions, from Clacton-on-Sea and if so are they any good or ones to avoid. My 06 TD4 has now done 84000 plus miles and showing no signs of having a VCU problem but considering the mileage I'm thinking of...

    td4 crankcase breather help

The benefit of fitting the BMW vortex filter is once it's fitted you don't need to bother with it again as apposed to the Land Rover loo roll type which has to be replaced at each service. If the old loo roll filter gets blocked up the chances are you will get a build up of pressure in the...

    new vcu still tight??

I've got no experience of any all terrain tyres so can't really answer that one but what I would do is post the question in another new thread and let all the off road boys come back with an answer. There must be a tyre out there somewhere but at a premium I should imagine. The tyres I had on...

    new vcu still tight??

No problem glad to help. To be honest thou I don't think you are going to solve the problem with the Infinity tyres so if you can put up with the vibrating and noise I would leave the tyres on you have on now. at least you know where it's all coming from and it will save you a few quid as well.

    new vcu still tight??

Looking at the stats those tyres have not got a good record. Poor fuel economy, bad road grip, and at 73db very noisey. I think it would be a case of out of the frying pan into the fire with these on. New Infinity INF-200 Car Tyres 215/65/16 98H 215/65 R16

    new vcu still tight??

There you go glad to hear it. Are you planning on going off road or staying mainly on road ??? If it's mainly on road I would recommend Pirelli Scorpion STR's as I don't use mine for off road I can't recommend any off road tyres but just remember the more chunky tyres you run on the more road...
