    Dom's 109" (re)build

hope you weren't the buyer then. looking at their other items, just realised i bought one of their "rocket fuel" badges to replace the diesel fuel one a few years ago the thing was a completely different size, the seller refused to acknowledge any responsibility and fobbed me off. maybe...

"Nice quiet unit Comes complete as shown" they're being careful not to show the missing backplate, and no mention of the gearstick not being there either. hope the buyer noticed that

    Engine Lift Points

good thought, but i was planning to do the crank seal. as far as i can tell, you need to lift the engine while removing the flywheel housing. the part number i found for this engine was ETC5816 but it seems to be discontinued. i've just ordered ETC7135 so when that comes i'll find out...

the big bearing in the over drive was okish, but a bit gritty, so for the cost of a new one, and while it was in bits away i really didn't fancy chancing it. the bastard would not budge. i resorted to grinding it, very very carefully! managed eventually, with no casualties. i...

I got a new set of bolts for the front cover, and got that fitted, i also rebuilt the selectors. sadly i found that one of the retaining bolts on the selectors was worn through and wasn't holding the fork in place. also did not have another bolt to replace it. So this job is still ongoing. all...

Hello and I believe in Faireys.

interesting thread this, i've just stripped my overdrive, had no idea how bad it was inside until this week. I need all new bearings and seals, but hoping I'll get away with the shafts/ gears were fine though. the costs on some of the landy suppliers are really off putting, i took the...

I've put off the gearbox jobs for about 2 years now. I'm not to confident with this area, but i've dismantled most of the main box and cleaned and inspected it. i haven found anything concerning, except the caged layshaft bearing was in bits. I've replaced all the main box bearings but...

tiny update, my day off was supposed to be more productive, but an expected paddocks order didn't arrive today, and then it rained more or less solidly. first job was after i realised i had not refitted the steering relay retainer. it was a bit distorted, from the effort removing it. i...
