    D3 suspension lift

Easy question. D3 suspension lift options. Obviously +2” air to spring conversion. But I’d like to keep the air suspension while it works. I’ve seen the Fully Adjustable Suspension Lift Rod Kits, are these any good? Are they a good idea for a permanent +2” lift? Paul

    I entirely agree.

    Manual shift on auto

Not really. You can also shift in the D3, D4 etc and the Range Rover L323 etc. Are they different types of vehicles?

    Manual shift on auto

As far as I’m aware, they are only available in low range, not at 50mph down a dual carriageway.

    Manual shift on auto

Can’t drive a manual, my left knee is fookt. As far as I know Compushift doesn’t allow you to change gears manually just set when gears change themselves. One good thing about the Freelander 1 is the manual shift option on the auto box.

    Manual shift on auto

No offence, but that’s not what I asked. I wanted a manual gear changer, like a triptonic shift, to change gear when I want to change them.

    Manual shift on auto

Does anyone know of a way to add a manual shift to the D2 Auto. I’ve had it on my FL1 and BMW X3, very handy thing, is it possible with the D2s auto box? Paul

Freelander 1 How to fit a 50mm Lift Kit

The 235 60 18s are ace. Guess I’ll stick with the 40mm lift. But I might go to 50mm on the rear.

Freelander 1 How to fit a 50mm Lift Kit

I’ve done far too much work on it to want to replace it. And I like the stiff ride of the sports suspension and want it to be easily returned to standard if necessary.

Freelander 1 How to fit a 50mm Lift Kit

I’ve got lowered sports suspension. I’ve fitted a 40mm lift kit, which helped with fitting my 235 60 18 ATs, but I fancy more lift coz I’ve noticed standard height FL1s are the same height as me. I can’t have that. So I’m thinking a 50/60mm lift. Will I have to do the bashing of the frame and...

    Plastic panels on FL1 sport

I’m just curious about them as I’ve never seen them on any other FL1.

    Plastic panels on FL1 sport

So got myself a 2004 Sport, lovely truck. But I’ll confess, I’ve never seen the black plastic door panels before and can’t find anything on the interwebs. Any Hippo experts know anything about them? paul

    D2 vs FL2

I currently have a D2 that is getting to the point were it’s never out of the garage, one thing then another and it’s ****ing the wife off. Now before she tells me to buy a car (shiver), I may have pursued her that a FL2 might do the job. I do Greenlaning, nothing too muddy, so would like a...

    M52B28 auto into Defender

I’m starting to get the itch again. I need a Defender. I love my Disco 2, it’s a great family truck and Greenlaner. But I have always loved the Defender and miss my last one. I had to sell it because I need an auto. So an auto Defender, not a new thing with the 300tdi, TD5 and V8 autos. But I’d...

    Disco 2 Air suspension hypothetical

so pointless that LR decided to do all round air in the RRC and D3 onwards. The entire point of car modification is that nothing is pointless.

    Disco 2 Air suspension hypothetical

Is there a way of fitting air suspension into the front of the Disco 3? Maybe using Range Rover or Disco 3 components? Has anyone else thought about this? Paul

Disco 2 The dreaded tyre size question, but with an extra question.

Nah I’m good, I like my 18s for off roading, been doing it long enough, just want to know the biggest tyres I can fit with a 2” lift and no cutting.

Disco 2 The dreaded tyre size question, but with an extra question.

So I’ve done a 2” lift. I want to fit bigger tyres. Considering either 265 60 18 ATs. or 265 65 18 ATs. Ive heard 265 65 18s can rub. Where? And how much would I need to cut away? Anyone got any pics of cut arches. Minimum cutting. Or would it be better to fit 265 60 18s? As I want the minimum...
