Update on this. Washers have turned up The Afu1879L and afu1887L are not in the stc1557 gasket kit. The 8 in the kit shown above post are slightly different. Anyway! They don’t seem to fit exactly. I am guessing they are collapsing copper washers that just push against the recess in the block...

Yep that’s what I thought but they don’t fit. I have ordered the part numbers from the parts book so will update when they arrive today hopefully. Could be a crap gasket kit as there are 4 bolt and 4 squirt washers with different numbers. The ones in the kit are all the same

Refitting the piston oil squirts back into my block after strip down. When I removed them they 100% had no washers. The Manual says they do for a 200tdi - not for a 300tdi. The ESR1557 kit has the attached washers ( see pic) The ones that look like the right ones don’t fit on neither the...

ok - had another go - a good minute on each bore - and tightened up the honing stones as well - looks a lot better and can definitely see the cross patterns Better now ? good to go !

Don’t want to remove the head as did that 2 years ago. Can I change all shells without the head off ?

Was surprised there was no sealant between the block and the ladder frame ? Apparently there is a special sealant for this ? Stc611? Or can I use rtv?
