    Custom Security for my Beloved

As I said in my original post; it needs a good, hard, long tug :p

    Custom Security for my Beloved

Insurance is a good point, hadn't considered that. The idea is that it would set off as soon as entry was gained, thus preventing any accidents. Medical issues is a good point too. Imagine being sued by the person who tried to steal your car! Will have a read of the manufacturer's speal...

    Custom Security for my Beloved

Owing to the fact that so many of these Landys get stolen, much of my time of late has been invested in improving the security of my beloved. I'm very much a believer in custom security because it should, in theory, slow down the scrotes even more. I like the idea of filling the car up with a...

    Ideas for Exhaust mods

In case you were wandering what a hard top 90 would look like with truck style side-exit exhausts...

To remove or not to remove the dashboard - this is the question....

I've removed the complete dash from mine several times. It's an easy job so you might as well. First removal was to sound proof the bulkhead - made a huge difference to the comfort of the car. I can now hear my stereo at 70mph or have a conversation with my passengers. Second time was to wire up...

Rear hub cap fell off and stub axle protuding

Looking at your earlier photos, your bearing grease is very oxidised. Might be worth replacing the bearings whilst you're at it. It's another easy job which only costs pennies. Also, and I really am very sorry for pointing this out, but... Somebody said something in another thread which made a...

    Vibration at 50mph

Spring height on the front of mine is 264mm, so pretty much standard. Back to the topic: I don't think trying the 2nd-hand disco prop will be of much use. If it still rattles then it could be the disco prop at fault so that won't tell me anything. If it fixes the rattle then it will tell me...

    Vibration at 50mph

I found this comment on another forum "Height on a standard 90 between top and bottom spring mount should be about 265mm". Not sure what year/model this relates to but it's a starting point at least.

    Ideas for Exhaust mods

A couple of those truck style exhausts would look cool :D They could be horizontal like on the AC Cobra, although I think vertical would be better. Especially on a tray back. Edit: Looks like somebody else thought so too:

    Vibration at 50mph

Thanks for all the replies guys and sorry for the delayed response. Wheels and tyres are all brand new (newly balanced too). With the car up on axle stands, engine running and putting it into gear, there was really bad wobble on all of the original wheels but I found no play in the bearings...

Afraid not. I have the original prop but the UJ's are completely shot. Prop is brand new.

    Vibration at 50mph

I know this has been asked before but I've read through the other threads and tried lots of the advice. Figured it was about time I started a new thread... When going at approx 50mph, I get steering judder in my Defender 90 300tdi This lot is brand new: All four wheels and tyres Front and...

    Defender turning circle

When I bought my 90 I couldn't turn full lock because the wheels would rub against the inner arches. I didn't know they had the bolts to adjust the turning circle at the time so went ahead and put some spacers on. This stopped the rubbing which in turn  meant I had a better turning circle...

Felt washer on transfer box output shaft

All sorted, but whilst I was at it, it got me wondering... If the front and rear prop can turn independently of each other, what's the point of having them so that the mounting holes are offset and they therefore only fit one way?
