Righto, will bear that in mind when I get back on it another day when the heavens decide to stay shut so I can get breaker bar on it. I’m not being dumb it’s not reverse threaded is it? Still should be lefty loosey.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Well that's not happening today at least not before the rain starts, moved it through the gears and such, went to crack off the fill plug and it wouldn't budge I literally lifted my whole body off the floor hanging off the allan key, will have to try and get my breaker bar and allan bits on it...

Thanks, assuming it is low I guess its top up till it dribbles then move it through the gears again and check its still dribbling and if not add some more?

Thinking of checking the autobox level today. Am I correct in thinking, it should be done with the engine running and moving it through the gears, I assume both high and low range? Then crack off the filler plug and if its at the right level it should flow out? I assume you keep it running...

    P38 Side Step replacement

Do you know if it pulls down anymore? I reckon that might be my issue aswell had a feel earlier and reckon I can feel it but couldn’t get any movement on it, I do already have a replacement ready but didnt really want to go try pulling stuff off with being able to see it as it seems to be a...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Was having a play with the nanocom and there was a code for the purge valve circuit open so had a look under the bonnet and sure enough found it was unplugged, plugged it back in cleared the code and it stayed off. In the short bit of use it seems to run smoother I would say. Only had a small...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I'd say for whatever reason its just not software isn't reading the sensor or rather the ecu right more than anything, I wouldn't say its anything to worry about as it is likely doing small regens anyway as your driving usually above 40mph for a few mins IIRC and for whatever reason if it...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

How long have you driven it for since you reset/ regen’d it? In my experience some cars with certain things will take a long long time to register new levels for certain things. For instance my sisters c4 would take around 4 days or so of lots of driving to register that there was enough ad-blu...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

That’s nothing to worry about that’s it’s basically dumping the excess air when you don’t need the extra power any more, if you really gunned it going forward and really did quick gear changes you would hear it aswell when it was boosting high and then needed to dump it when changing gears.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I’m sure you guys are right, though I suppose it won’t hurt checking the level when I get chance anyway. It just seems strange that when the gearbox is cold it goes into park and the selector is glides along with ease. Yet once warm it’s like trying to push it through treacle and struggle to...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

So in regards to my problems getting it into park and it being a little more difficult to move the shifter once its warmed up but goes easily again when cold does anyone think that it could be something like the gearbox fluid is a bit low once hot? as when cold in theory there is more fluid...

That why they say FORD stand for Fix or Repair Daily. Had to change a Ball joint on my BIL's MK7 transit a few years ago and because the ball joint is and interreference fit into the hub itself its took days and massive polls to beat out. had to do something the otherside aswell and the captive...

P38A Coolant loss and wont stop smoking v8 4l Thor

Will do, I know Kermit had new one and cap not to long back and it still releases a bit of pressure when taking the cap off when cold so I would think the expansion tank is holding.

Not that I’ve been able to see so far, gonna try and get a good look underneath with a torch tomorrow.

Haven’t spotted any leaks, will try pulling the plugs when I get chance, my have a more in depth look at the hose to water pump as was just reading a few hundred pages back in the what did you do thread and @kermit_rr seem to have repeated trouble with that hose.

    P38A air suspension woes

That would make sense, as when you get in that side should drop slightly and the car should think I’m lower than I want on this side I’ll pump a bit more air in to get it back to level.

Replaced the little wing indicators as one had crazing on the plastic and the other was so faded and probably old that when I went to take it off it fell apart at the slightest touch. Tightened up the front passenger armrest as it was really wobbly. Tried to tighten up the drivers one and the...

P38A Coolant loss and wont stop smoking v8 4l Thor

Definitely seem to be rattling at least is sounds like the cats and not the heat shields above them, if I give it a gentle rev the rattle seems to disappear as if the back pressure keeps the bits in place. Under normal acceleration seems to rattle again though. I doubt I would be able to get a...

Yeah she does feel like its holding back slightly when accelerating aswell so maybe getting somewhat blocked when the extra exhaust gases pass through. Gonna pop down the local exhaust centre tomorrow to see how much they will charge. I've found the right ones on ebay and being an w reg can get...
