Landy 110 1992 (J368 XSG) - is it as bad as mechanic says..

Ahh bugger. That doesn’t look good! Sorry to say that someone has fleeced you out of your well-earned money. Was this from a dealer or private sale?

    Brake troubleshooting

You might have some air trapped in the master cylinder, or the new master cylinder is dodgy, did you get a good brand?

    110 Fuel Tank Bolts

Cheers mate. Is it possible to extract the old bolt from above? I’ve got some of the “special” bolts on order as part of the fuel tank fixings kit. I couldn’t see how to do it! Mind you, I had had enough of it by then. Bloody rusty piece of **** !

    110 Fuel Tank Bolts

I’ve dropped the fuel tank to do some chassis repairs and I’ll be needing to replace the two captive bolts that hold the rear of the tank/cradle up. Is this possible without major cut-and-shut surgery? Trying to plan ahead for tomorrow, couldn’t work it out today! Cheers

    Brake Flaring Tool

This is the one I opted for. It seems to be sold by multiple retailers, but the next day delivery was just too tempting. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01M4RC2YW?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

    Brake Flaring Tool

Cheers for all the suggestions. This arrived today and I’m suitably impressed with the quality for the price. I’ll be punching the missus later using the special grease, being extra careful not to get any near her mouth.

    Brake Flaring Tool

Cheers mate. I saw your thread from a few years back, good to see you’ve got on with that tool. I think I’ll end up going for this one.

    Brake Flaring Tool

Cheers. I think that’s the style I’ll be going for. That seems a good price for anything made in England these days!

    Brake Flaring Tool

Cheers, Dippy. I find the Sealey range of tools to be mostly very reliable!

    Brake Flaring Tool

Looks a quality bit of kit! But out of my price range for want I’m needing it for.

    Brake Flaring Tool

Trying to get the old rot-box back in the road and I’m going to need to replace a few of the brake lines (front half I replaced with cupro-nickel a few years ago). Have you got any recommendations for an effective flaring tool which won’t brake (ba dum tss) the bank? I’m thinking along the lines...

    Brake caliper rebuild

Looks a bit minging, but I wouldn’t worry about it. A good clean and new s/s pistons with seals and she’ll be good again!

    Windscreen glass removal

I paid £70 for a windscreen fitter to put mine in. I’m happy to tackle any job on the old girl, but this was £70 I really didn’t mind parting with!

Service brake efficiency below requirement 1.2.2(a)(i) What does this mean!!!!

Put the vehicle on axle stands, check each wheel can be spun freely ie. none of the brakes are binding. If it passes this test then get someone to press the brake pedal whilst you check the clamping force of each wheel, use a crow bar (other brute force tools are available) to lever each wheel...

    Newbury defender door handles

Well it wasn’t me! 😆 I can picture the stand though, no idea of a name though. Not long to go until the big day.

    Newbury 4x4 day

Indeed it probably was! Small world! Some guy asked me where I got the two blowers from and I gloated about my supposed bargain. He wanted directions to the seller, not sure why, it’s not like the seller had a stack of blowers to sell. Got one working after a quick valve adjustment, so I’m...

    Newbury 4x4 day

My mate and I noticed the increase in non-Landy/tool/farm tat, it won’t be long before it ends up like a crappy car boot sale. Still, it was a good day out. I ended up with two Makita 4-stroke leaf blowers, some new wellies, a couple of heavy-duty g-clamps, plus some other sundries. We enjoy the...
