Hi everyone, tum te tum it's a TD4 fuel pump question. I've read a few posts on this but mine has another small twist, the old girl has allways started first time on the button. Yesterday wouldn't start. Couldn't hear the fuel pump when the key was turned, so fuel pump me thinks. 4th or 5th...

    Water in boot tool well

DONT JUST DRILL A HOLE! Honestly, that lets the water out but won't cure the problem, have a read of this thread I created when I sorted out my boot. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/boot-locker-190132.html It's likely to be the rear door seals in my opinion, my boot apeard dry apart...

knock from rear (suspension related, nothing to do with drive or diff!!)

cool, couple of things to check, thanks. typical driven 50 miles to work and back today and not a single knock! I'll take a look anyway, if there was a knock then there's a reason for it!

knock from rear (suspension related, nothing to do with drive or diff!!)

Hullo, My old girl seems to be developing an occasional very slight knock from the rear n/s wheel when going over some bumps. (X reg TD4 SWB) Before anyone says rear diff mounts, it isn't! I've had that before and fixed and this is defo coming from the rear corner. Pretty sure it's...

How long does your TD4 take to get from 60mph to 70mph???

X reg 2000 TD4 134k miles EGR bypass, Silicone intake hose, bit of 2 stroke in with deisel and intake manifold recently cleaned out. 60mph to 70mph in 5th was 5 seconds which I was really chuffed with. I did it by counting "oneone thousand, twoone thousand ...etc" so maybe not 100%...

    Td4 Auto/Manual economy on motorways (FL1) ??

my 2000 swb manual TD4 is averaging about 41 mpg at the mo. which is pretty impressive considering it's done 130k miles. On the motorway try to resist going above 70, makes a big difference.

    wet carpet

I had the exact same and have sorted it completly by simply pulling the seals out in the corners then carefully refitting them. I have a thread about it here which may help; http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/boot-locker-190132.html Mine's 3 door, if you'rs is a 5 door there may be a few...

    Don't laugh to hard

Oven cleaner + jet wash cleaned my inlet manifold nicely. You'll get v messy though when all the oily greasy **** that's been caked in there will spray out everywhere! Read this if you haven't already, it explains nicely about cleaning out the manifold ->...

Possible Freelander purchase, need a bit of advice.

Yup, defo check the VCU has been replaced if it's over 70k miles if not you want to budget for about £250 ish for someone like Bell Engineering to fit a recon unit. (Old VCU can cause big expensive problems over time if not delt with) Clutch replacement can be pretty costly, I think I'm right...

Water leak into rear of Freelander

Condensation caused by heat from the exhaust I can imagine. Water on the parcel shelf and a mini lake caused by condensation is pretty unlikely I would have thought and almost certainly down to leaky roof rails but I've just realised the guy that has cut his carpet out is not the original...
