    Bloody mongrel 90!

Cheers James Hopefully better pic attached. So re smaller spigot bearing size, (sorry for stupidity) presumably my LT77 has a different sized shaft from most other LT77 boxes. Does that mean that my only real option for a second hand LT77 is to get one off a VM engined Range Rover or failing...

Ha ha. That's kind of what I had my fingers crossed for

    Bloody mongrel 90!

Hi all, what started out as what I thought would be an easy job is snowballing. I was trying to replace an ugly fabricated g'box tunnel with an LT77 tunnel of flea bay. Front bit to bulkhead no problem, but the transfer lever is too close to seat box for the other bit of cover to fit. The...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Took out the homemade gearbox tunnel and started to fit the new (2nd hand) one just brought from fleabay, only to find I need new floor panels as previous owner had cut the originals to fit bodged box shape diy cover. Seems everytime I touch my Landy I end up needing to buy/fix something else. :(

Best manufacturer of timing belt kit 300tdi

Just my 10p worth , but if you have a motor factor near you who do Gates kits you can't go far wrong. I think they offer a minimum 5 year guarantee now too

Which axle is better, 24 spline or Salisbury?

If you can find the disc conversion writeup would be v greatful as I have a Salisbury rear on my 90 and would love to swop from drums. Cheers in advance

Am I going mad? Swivel refill

Ah, do people still produce kits with the old seal with garter spring in, or is it a case of just fitting the grease type nowadays? Truck is a bit of a 'Bitsa' (bits a this, and bits a that), and been sat a while and messed with

Am I going mad? Swivel refill

Cheers gents. At least I'm not going mad. Good shout with wheel turning for access. Gonna do them this morning. Would having oil lubricated swivels mean that it would have had oil fed wheel bearings originally? If so are they still designed like that or would new bearings have been redesigned...

Am I going mad? Swivel refill

As title says, am I going mad or being really stupid? I can see the drain plug at the bottom, I can see the level plug in the middle, but where is the bloody filler bung/plug at the top on this axle on my 90? Should I be filling via the level hole?

    Buckingham Ford

Obviously a very old post but stumbled upon it so if anyone is still watching, as said Whaddon is near by. There are also a couple of lanes not far away near Silverstone. Banbury Lane near Morton Pinkney is quite good but thereally are TORs

    Date of build?

Contact Gaydon historic museum in Warwickshire. You can email and get and exact date of manufacture via email for about £6ish. If you're after MOT and tax exemption for historic vehicle, provided yours is within the build date criteria you can get a certificate for about £45 from them as well...

Disco 1 Help ** disco 1 undrivable on the road

Will make a nice off road toy, but I think you're a bit optimistic to think you will get it to have good road manners with that setup. The welded diff will be a pig on anything but the slippy stuff. I'd sell current mods and tyres and get some stuff a bit more toned down to give you the best...

    Steering box mainshaft exiting!!

That is fantastic news!! You've made my day. Gave it a good wiggle on the floor and jacked up the other day and no play anywhere so things are looking up. The engine is a 3.6L 6 cylinder VM motori engine. Big old boat lump

    Steering box mainshaft exiting!!

Would this be considered too much? It's a 3 bolt PAS box so not really sure if it should look like this or not? Just looks to clean like it's just come out.

    Steering box mainshaft exiting!!

I won't. I'll try and grab one tomorrow. Typical, just as the TOR''s on the Northants BYWAYS (nearest to me) have ended and Whaddon this weekend!!

    Steering box mainshaft exiting!!

Hi all, Just after a bit of advice / reassurance please. The main shaft that the drop arm comes off on my steering box seems to be slowly trying to exit out the bottom of the box! There is about an inch of smooth shaft before the splines start and the ball joint on the drop arm is being pushed...

    VM6 Motori

Spanners out tomorrow then! Cheers James As it seems there is very little you don't know about all green oval, my rear prop has different sized yolks at either end. I know it will have to have been something different to accommodate the sailsbury. Does it sound like a bit of a diy mix up or is...
