    Is this normal??

Ok, OK, so 'red-hot' may have been 'slightly' over-exagerated!! It was cold, so they seemed like it!! Thanks.

    Is this normal??

Hoping that some of you very nice people can help me out here. during this cold-snap, I, just like most of you, have been setting the heating on 'program' & leaving it running for 15min or so, then its nice & clear & warm upon setting-off at 0600!! Now we all know that 'program' switches front &...

    p38 suspention help needed

My compressor packed up a few years ago, so I knocked up a MARS system, pressed up the suspension bags via an electric tyre pump, they stayed up for a couple of weeks until I got the bits to re-build the compressor! Since then I bought a spare comp & valve-block from e-bay & they sit on a shelf...

p38 show car up for auction

I quite like the White one!! Mind you, only after the removal of those pug-ugly front & rear bathtubs & stupid wheels, probably was a nice P38 originally!!!:D

dash clock light removal / fuse

Its a long-shot, but my clock & window-switch panel lights never worked when I bought mine, so I gave-em a palm-slap, worked fine ever since!!

    spare key

The BIG problem with replacement keys is the one I have! That is, I only got one key with my car, BUT, Landrover in their wisdom, stuck a silly sticker on the fob, which by the time I had it, had long-gone!! So what key do I have?? I don't know, so what key do I order?? I don't know that...

    P38 Viscous fan to electric?

Sorry, but I can't agree with that, my DSE fan was virtually 'locked' & 'Roared' above the engine-noise, thus the engine was always over-cooled, a properly functioning fan will freely spin with the engine stopped, upon starting from cold, it WILL spin, but with no torque, if you've got the...

    P38 Viscous fan to electric?

My fan failed also, I contacted Kenlow, they supplied me with their latest 17" unit, along with 2-speed override switches, works great now, normal driving, it NEVER comes on, when towing my huge trailer over the moors, it'll come on for short periods, cars run fantastic since fitting.

    Kenlowe electric fan

I too had trouble with the original viscous unit, fitted an 18" kenlow, works a treat, temp in 'normal' for 99% of the time, only cuts in when I tow the large trailer up & over the moors, & then the gauge rapidly drops back to normal, fitted the 2 over-ride switches into the small wood trim in...

    Keycode lockout again

What I have learnt is that in my case, the 'chirping' was because the bonnet was open, & the ECU was 'telling' me that it would not accept the keycode, trouble was, as soon as I connected the battery, the locks operated & armed the alarm, then as soon as I slammed the bonnet shut, the bloody...

isnt it fun owning a p38!!!!!!

Mine is similar to this one on e-bay: 370185992625 I bought it initially for my transit, but now the tranny has gone, it lives in the p38! On a couple of occasions when the rr has been dead, this booster has done its job fine.

isnt it fun owning a p38!!!!!!

As to one of your 'other' questions, yes, you can use a booster-pack, I keep one in the back for emergencies, & have had to use it once or twice!!

    P38 DSE Overheating (yet another)

A little tip, years ago I used to strip & rebuild gig industrial diesel engines, & found the best way to eliminate air-locks was to run the engine WITHOUT the rad/headed tank cap, if the engine was new or dry, it would be started & immediately filled whilst running, this way, the coolant was...

    Keycode lockout again

Well, thanks for your feedback guys, I just found out EXACTLY what you did as well!! Left it for a couple of hours on charge, had a look & the dash was clear, did the keycode & all is well again!! YIPPEEEE! The windows reset again as per yours, & the fob works fine! Thanks again everyone.

    Keycode lockout again

Yes, & within a second of connecting, everything clicks & locks, & I have to shut the bonnet before that, or the alarm goes off upon shutting it! Also, KEYCODE LOCKOUT is on the dash, ALL THE TIME! It never goes off, should it??
  17. M

    Keycode lockout again

Yes, I do know the correct sequence, BUT, since this happened, as soon as I put the key in ign with the alarm sounding off, not only does the dash tell me about the keycode lockout, it also tells me ALL the windows are NOT set, which of course were originally, plus the fact, that now its in...

    Leaky air spring

Piece of cake, I used a thin piece of wire, bent to a small hook, down the opening, twist & catch the o-ring, up & out, others have used a crochet hook I believe, down to my local bearing dealership (they do o-rings as well) for new rings, also, try & simply clean the end of the pipe first...

    Keycode lockout again

For some reason I found the battery completely flat this morning, (good, new-ish battery) Had to open with the key, key in ignition, ZILCH! dead as a do-do! Battery on charge for a few hours, then, as soon as I re-connected, down went all the locks! Remote did nothing, so I found an...

Fitting window into carrier on a 1993 Vogue SE.

Although I've never 'done' your particular car, I've done many others, & all are similar. With the glass out of the car, place on an old bit of carpet or similar, lower side up, ensure the glass, channel & rubber are clean, place the rubber (folded) over the bottom of the glass, apply...
