I degreased the t-box today and drawed a line across i-shaft and the case. After 20 miles drive, it seems the i-shaft has no drift and is dry under it. Possibly the i-shaft hole is still in good condition, but I saw oil out from a small seam btw the g-box and the t-box. It is likely the input...
I have 2004 disco. td5. How can I check its transfer box i-shaft hole has been oval from outside? I guess i-shaft is fixed with external lock nut, if it it is not loose, can I say it is not oval yet.
If valve is not tightened, I wonder it could become loose later. I found my tyres have more or less air leaking after three months or longer. Maybe loose two turns explains it.
I bought a valve tool from halfords and got a valve from other tyre for time being. After I screwed up tightly and inflated, it had no air hissing, I checked other three tyres, there were about 2 turns to tighten up. Should I tighten or leave one or two turns?
After I inflated tyres for my landy at a petrol station, I was hearing air hissing from one of the tyres, I could feel air pressure from its valve, anyway I drove home. Is it possible to fix it simply by myself or have tyre shop to check it, Thanks!
When I did live ABS input monitoring using Nanocom. Nanocom was plugged in OBD socket first, then started engine. three amigos and some lights were on and stayed (like HDC, SLS and green HDC lights). I thought they should be gone as usually as soon as engine starts to run.
Hi, I want to monitor my D2 ABS input using nanocom evo. When I started engine, three amigos and other lights are on and not gone. I know my car has three amigos problem, I just wonder if it is normal or something is wrong.
Thank you for your info, Stanleysteamer. One of my concerns is bolt holes alignment of flange pinion when refitting. If out of alignment, do I have to rotate rear wheels by jacking the car?
Finally, I found the rear diff oil was flung to the wet area when the oil was weeping from the pinion flange. I checked the breather is clear. It seems I need to replace the diff seal behind the pinion flange. But two LR tools are needed to access the seal (see pic). I am wondering if anyone...
I checked the wet area again this weekend. it is dry or half dry around it, apart of that it has no drips. I checked the tank and fuel pipe lines on chassis which is lower than the wet area. They are dry too. It seems a fluid was gushed from its underneath. I saw there are two grease U-turn...
Hi dieseldog69, It is 2004 D2 td5 ES auto. I have checked the fuel pump at the boot, it is semi-dry around, and forward to the area between the tank and the wet area. Apparently, the wet area should be where leak source is.
When I changed rear axle oil yesterday, I found its wet, then looked up forward a bit, there is a wet area where the rear seat is located above. I guess it could be leak from a fuel line (HP line?). But I can not see any fuel line at this location. How do I get access from the above of the wet...
It was hard to access there, but I cleaned underneath it with degreaser. The breather is fixed at banjo bolt at top of tbox. I do not know how to remove it without removing tbox?
