    Which 90 should I buy?

Hi all. After last years disaster of being stranded in France with a dead ECU I sold my TD5 90 and vowed never again! However the Fiat panda Treking I replaced it with just isn't doing it for me :-) So I'm looking at 90's again. I want something that looks really clean so I thought maybe a 2.2...

It was fitted by the previous owner. But from recollection the receipt was for a new unit remapped to stage one. £900

    New issues in France!!!!

I’ve had tho throw in the towel and booked recovery ££££ back to Uk. So I’ll up dat you in a couple of weeks. I called my local independent who reckons it’s the ECU all day long. It’s less than 2 years old from Alive tuning so maybe some warranty...

    Stereo puzzle????

Stereo now cured. It was the injector harness arcing internally. Who’d have thought it!

    New issues in France!!!!

I sort of discounted that as last week the pump relay packed in and it still worked fine although I couldn’t get over 50 mph. I’ve replaced the relay and 2 days later this problem... I took the pump out and fired up with the green hose off. Lots of flow. Same with the fpr temp sensor removed...

    New issues in France!!!!

All back together... no different. Won’t even tick over. Fuel pump goes for ages. If I do purge it just keeps going 5 times or more?

    New issues in France!!!!

They’re out! No recovery unfortunately... The o rings look fine. Copper washers have some dubious areas but nothing screams out. I’ve annealed them over the burner in our hot water boiler :-0 Think I’ll flip them over to give a new area for the injector to bite into.

    New issues in France!!!!

Ok chaps. It’s not drivable at all today. I have no proper tools or parts but I aim to remove injectors and anneal the copper washers soft again. I’ve stripped it all down but top tips for removing the injectors without a slide hammer/puller anyone?

    New issues in France!!!!

I think my oil level has risen. Can the diesel get into the rocker cover? I’ve got a 400 mile motorway journey. Don’t want to wreck it! Might change the oil first.

    New issues in France!!!!

The pump does seem to run for a long time. Think injector seals could be it. Not a job for the French barn and rustic tools. I’m sure it’ll get us home as long as I can get it warmed up.... thank as always guys. At least I know my loom is ok. My radio now works and I found the worn insulation...

    New issues in France!!!!

Connection ok. Leads back to the red plug all checked for continuity and earth leakage. All sound. I’ve cleaned every connector I can find. Removed the fuel pump to look for splits & blockages. All good. Loads of flow out of the green pipe.

    New issues in France!!!!

I don’t have any diagnostics available today so can’t clear anything.... just been for a perfect 10km drive. Restarted no problem. Grrrr!

    New issues in France!!!!

Don’t have the tools to tackle an injector.... I’ve just tried to dive it had to restart about 30 times an I crawled up the road in a cloud of smoke. Then out of nowhere it spun the wheels and cleared. Drives fine when it’s hot??? This is baking my noodle.

    New issues in France!!!!

It fires up immediately but rough as old boots. Lots of smoke and un burnt vapour. Stalls if I rev it. I can eventually get it running after numerous attempt. And restarts while driving. Then when it’s at full temperature it seems ok.

    New issues in France!!!!

Still very ill... Fires up on one or two cylinders only and dies when I press the throttle. I thought it was cured last night it was faultless. Any ideas? So far I’ve:- Cleaned red Ecu plug. Replaced linjector loom. Run diagnostics (peak charge on all injectors) Bled water trap. Changed fuel...

    New issues in France!!!!

Just paid a visit to the great guys at Landy Point at Angouleme. Replaced the injector harness which seems to have sorted it. We’ll see tomorrow morning when it’s cold. Interestingly it’s cured my radio issue too so it must have been arcing in there!

    Stereo puzzle????

That was it! Well nearly... It was like a suppression issue. I just replaced the injector wiring harness in the hope it would cure the running issues and the stereo is now fine! so I guess it was sparking somewhere?
