T-Cut has a bad rep...but it does have its uses!

Thanks very much! Mine still has a few oily bits to sort, but giving it a good clean really motivates you to get the other stuff sorted. Mine's gone off again today for a bit more work, ho hum. Got any pics of yours? Prob best to chuck 'em in the other thread! Any clay bar will do TBH; if you...

T-Cut has a bad rep...but it does have its uses!

I'll be honest, I'm not sure I can be arsed! I know I should, but having clayed the beemer the other week, it's knackering!!

Insa turbos Ranger or traction track tyre help

Yeah, we adjusted the steering lock on Carl's but they still rubbed a bit and were very tight on the rear arch at full articulation, even with a camel cut! Traction tracks would, I imagine, be a superior offroad tyre so if you intend on spending some time away from tarmac then go for them!

T-Cut has a bad rep...but it does have its uses!

After last weekends greenlaning, the car needed a good clean as it got pretty muddy underneath and also picked up a few scratches after the last lane of the day that got very narrow towards the end! So the car had a thorough wash yesterday and this morning I decided to T-Cut all the panels to...

Range Rover Classic EAS video of ride heights

For no other reason that I thought it might be useful for someone somehow, whilst cleaning the car today I decide to take some pics and video footage of the EAS in action, starting in offroad mode, dropping to standard ride height and then down to access mode. In hindsight, I should have filmed...

My Range Rover Classic expedition project (ongoing, pics etc)

Who says P38's are expensive to run?

I tend to go up to California Superbike School up at Silverstone, they get good prices on from Dunlop and if you're on one of their days you can benefit from their discount! You say that, but one of the guys I ride with rides a Daytona 955i and it's bloody uncomfortable compared to my GSX-R750!!

Is the airbox the same on the late Classic and P38?

Shame! Thanks for going to the effort of finding out, though! So the filter element looks the same but the airbox has changed. Damn and blast!

Is the airbox the same on the late Classic and P38?

I think I already have one, fitted to the side of the lid of my airbox, so perhaps I could relocate that somewhere - not on the metal airbox, though?

Who says P38's are expensive to run?

Thanks for the offer Dave! I use Dunlop SportSmarts on the bike as they cope with a fair few trackdays as well as plenty of road miles :)

Is the airbox the same on the late Classic and P38?

Have found this online, looks like a guy with a P38 (square plastic airbox) has used the older metal cylindrical ones from an early Classic and Disco 1 V8: 4.0/4.6/P38A Air Box Replacement He did it because he kept blowing apart the plastic ones when it backfired on LPG. Mine rarely backfires...

Is the airbox the same on the late Classic and P38?

I have had a look but can only find filter elements, not the air box itself - and not sure if the mounting lugs would be in the same place or not!

Is the airbox the same on the late Classic and P38?

C'mon, someone must know if they're the same part?!

Who says P38's are expensive to run?

Ha, thanks James - we can hope. My other car has gone in today for a new thermostat and water pump to be fitted at the local BM Specialist, and my motorbike needs taxing and two new tyres - quite an expensive vehidle month!!

    New P38 service parts 4.0 & 4.6

Have you heard of the for sale section? It's the section where people sell stuff. It's a bit cryptic really, perhaps we should try and make it clearer in some way so people don't get confused...?

Is the airbox the same on the late Classic and P38?

The airbox on my 1994 Classic has cracked (I think for a large backfire when it ran out of LPG a few months back) and need a new one. It has the later model serpentine belt 3.9 V8 with the square airbox - is this an identical part to the one fitted on the 4.0 P38 and the Disco 1 3.9 V8 and...

Who says P38's are expensive to run?

My bosses P38 (a good condition, well maintained 2001 4.0 SE) went for it's MOT and to have the ABS & TC lights investigated....£1,100 later, he got it back!! Ouch. New shock, new brake lines, new ABS/TC ECU, HEVAC interrogated and blend motors repaired....four pages later I was bored of reading...

Planning to put my P38A to bed for Summer....

I would say....don't take it off the road. Like TVR's, these things are better being used, even of only once or twice a week.

    First Pic

I'm usually the first to deride P38 conversions, but as a few others have said, that one somehow works! Good effort - not something I would personally do, but it's the best P38 conversion I've seen by a long way.
