Defender Conversion To Soft-top - DVLA Issues?

@flat @Litch Many thanks for this and it was the body type in the V5 that prompted this post; as above, it states this as Light 4x4 Utility. I'll make no assumptions here and contact DVLA and update the post accordingly; that update may well be a month or two away, but useful, I think, anyway...

Defender Conversion To Soft-top - DVLA Issues?

I'm intending to convert my D90 to a soft-top in the next few months (overhaul has greatly delayed this so far!) and I'm assuming the V5 will need amending and with that, some form of vehicle check, or maybe not? Appreciate that the Defender soft-top is a standard variant of the vehicle, but...

    A newbie

Welcome and congrats on taking leave of your senses and buying something with a Land Rover badge; the drugs trolley will be along shortly...;)

    Opinions appreciated

If you do nothing else, HPI check the vehicle. You may well get alerts from such checks, but remember, Landies have engines swapped-out, chassis replacements, etc, but at least it will give you a good 'steer'. I would agree with not buying the first one you set eyes on, unless you're bringing...

    Vehicle Tracking: A Beginners Guide

I have one of the SinoTrack units ordered thru Alibaba; I think, all in, it was around £25 and has proved to be fit for my purposes. Hippo makes a good point to check the battery backup time and functionality, on a regular basis and I will get in to that habit.

    SP 4x4.

Oldish post, I know, but my very recent experience with SP 4x4 is worth a mention. I ordered some parts and, unfortunately, what was sent was not quite what I ordered. A quick email had the company confirm that the correct items were being mailed and for me to keep the original parts sent in...

    Vehicle Tracking: A Beginners Guide

@Hippo With respect, your Lordship, you're a tad off the mark in your #188 post regarding low cost trackers; you appear to trash the good ole go it alone option. I have a Chinese tracker that did not cost a lot of Yen, yet it has Geo-fencing, vehicle battery disconnect, inertial sensing and it...

    Webbing For Soft-top

Cheers, Mick; me and sewing are not good bed-fellows, so was looking for other options. That said, your post reminded me that I know someone with the required skills to maybe pull your suggestion off! Thanks.

    Webbing For Soft-top

Spotted this Defender with, what I would call, webbing on the sides of the frames - see pic. Any idea where I could source these for my D90? Thanks. T.
