Hi I recently brought a 2000 1.8 commercial FL1. The gearbox needed replacing as it had no reverse gear. Fitted replacement gearbox but since then speedo has not worked. Changed the drive on the top of the gearbox but still no speedo. Anybody have any ideas? TIA

The leads go 1 2 3 4 from left to right. It's the firing order that is 1 3 4 2.

No sorry mental block. 1 is at top left 2 is top right 3 is bottom left 4 is bottom right I was thinking mirror image, not enough coffee

Looking at the cap from the battery /passengers side Number 1 is top right (2 o'clock ) Number 3 is bottom right (5 o'clock ) Number 4 is bottom left (8 oclock) Number 2 is top left (10 o'clock )

I have a similar fault with my spare fl. Cranks for ages but won't start. I have to crank it for 10 mins until the battery is flat and then swap batteries, it starts fairly easy then. Guess I need a new battery and move it somewhere I can jump start it. Once it's started it starts everytime...

Hi, i would get a set of impact sockets and a breaker bar, small cost compared to the grief if you round of one of the bolts, also the ird unit is a lot heavier than it looks. its tight and hard work but i broke 2 rathets (1 guaranteed for life) using an "extension bar" on my ratchet. Good luck

Hi, i am breaking a 2000 1.8 petrol freelander, are you after just the outer pulley and bolt, or the inner timming belt gear that the pulley sits on? i could remove all 3 parts if you need them? dean

Hi, not trying to put a dampner on the issue any further, but when my vac pipes were cracked and not sealing (it was the pipe running along the injectors and down the back of the engine) my brakes were crap, really crap, up to the point where if you tried to press the brake pedal twice quickly...
