    Van aaken smart box

Does anyone have fitting instructions for an old van aaken smart box. Looks fairly straight forward except it has 2 wires. A black and a brown. I am assuming that the black is for a chassis earth but don't know about the brown. I have tried Dr Google but can't find what I am looking for. TIA

    Freelander 1 Help...

just a thought, but might it be that the car battery is flat? i believe that you can connect jump leads to the alternator connections under the car to check that the battery is not flat. like i said, just a thought.

Freelander 1 Can you replace just ignition key lock part of steering lock??

i never managed to work out how to change the inner lock part, so changed the lock assembly. Hacksaw a groove in the bolts, knock the first bolt round with a punch, when loose use the screwdriver to remove them. Doesn't take long, i might have a spare key/lock, i will have a look tomorrow

Freelander 1 td4 injector leak off test

i replaced a couple of my injectors recently as they filled the bottles in less than 30secs. the replacements were second hand and would probably fill over the bottle in 2 mins but the engine starts easily (without glow plug light and only 2 good glow plugs) and runs sweet as a nut, so i doubt...

    The Drums....

Mine failed last year because the steering lock didn't engage when the key was removed! How does that make it not road worthy? Needless to say I don't use that garage any more

    Glow plug light??

just to add to the confusion, my 2003 td4 never shows a glow plug light (owned for 3 months) but does have voltage to the glow plugs when starting. My 2001 td4 always shows the glow plug light on the dash! i wonder if the 03 dash "bulb" is faulty but it starts ok so not worried.
