    Sacrilege, but bear with me.

Lord no! As an original In Vogue it will slowly be restored to mint while being used as a weekend countryside trundler. This '72 is the base for my daily driver: It's fully restored but to a mixed spec, so mixing it up again to suit me doesn't matter.

One of the original 400 In Vogue Rangies. Arrived today. :)

    Judder at 70 mph

Thanks. Viscous coupling? As in the later Borg Warner TC? The fact that it occurs when off centre to the left suggests to me it's isolated to a wheel area and the loaded one will be front drivers but I may have my physics totally are se about face.

    Judder at 70 mph

An interesting one. The Rangie has a judder at around 70mph. You feel it through the steering wheel exactly if it were a wheel imbalance. It only occurs within a small window around 70 mph and when holding a steady speed. The real clue is that it is triggered when the car is not...

The 4 door is now my daily until the '72 is ready and then I'll sell it on. In the meantime I'll potter on the minor boggles to get it properly perfect. This latest 2 door is a project to use all the parts that I've collected. I'll keep it out at the house for running about there and slowly...

Pretty crap but hey ho. Looks like I now have a third one as of this afternoon. A 1981 2 door. Will post a picture when I get it picked up.

More like the last 4 years!!! Joys of waking up one morning to learn that your business partner has relocated overseas with all the company funds. Might be adding a third one next week. :D

My father had a dark blue Vogue, an 86 or thereabouts and my Godfather had a Lincoln Green 2 door. Many happy childhood memories. Looking forward to taking the kids on breaks this summer in this one. And then getting the 2 door up and running in time for next summer.

It's not a colour I ever appreciated until I started looking at the In Vogues. It'll probably grow on me. I wasn't looking for a car but the chap restoring mine mentioned the car and that he would snap it up if he could and at the same time the Home Office had lodged a formal complaint that...

Thanks. It seems to be a minter. Only superficial rust where you'd expect rot. Needs an upper tailgate and one of the electric windows needs rebuilding. Hopefully the aircon just needs re gassing and that's it. It drives beautifully. Only the tiniest play in the steering and no signs of the...

Hi. The AJ unit was the original choice but it's messy to fit as you need to cut bulkhead to get it to sit so that it is not sticking mass infront of the axle. And it's a very deep engine and you need to jack it up so as to clear the front running gear. I had made the assumption that if they...

Hi Zen, Fett. Project has finally begun!!!!! It's going to be built externally to 1979/80 trim spec. Might keep the Wolfrace WT5s on it as I've learnt that they were a standard wheel for the customs cars of the 70s and 80s. Dash will be 1980 aircon spec. Seats, post 86 two door...

    LT230 question

Morning, This is probably going to sound like a very stupid question but believe it or not there is some logic behind it. :) The front facing casing extension on the offset output. What is inside it and why does it need to exist? It's obviously not there for looks and not is it there to...

    ZF 4HP22 dimensions

Thanks, so about 31 inches from front of bell housing to rear? Another question is does this box have a factory adaptor to mate to the LT230 or is it cast in the full housing?

    ZF 4HP22 dimensions

I've been scouring Google to try and find the length and width of the ZF auto that was used in the RRC (inc bell housing). I'd be very grateful if anyone knows this data of where I can find it. TIA.

It does look great. Although this Rangie in Watford yesterday looked more Tonka:

On reflection, considering the gold flakes in the paint, maybe you should go for gold lettering, bumpers and wheels? That reminds me, I must book tickets for the Liberace film.

I think the silver bumper looks better than black but, it depends on the wheel colour and also it will look awful with the gold lettering if you go that way. Really looks fantastic.

Paint this on the roof in homage to the ferous oxide riddled iron that BL made the cars with?
