    Freelander 1 Td4 electrical mysteries

First thing I would try would be to disconnect the battery for five minutes and see if that clears any of the faults. Make sure you have a radio security code, if your radio needs one.

    Injector removal

Get yourself onto YouTube and search for "Comeinhandynow" and look through his videos on smokey Freelanders and cleaning the injectors. He's a member here and his videos explain things well.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Yeah, mangled nuts are a generally bad thing, except maybe as an ice cream topping. Verified my AC clutch isn't engaging and spotted a bit of an oil leak. It's marked its territory on the driveway.

Worth checking out the oil seals on the turbo. Possibly you have oil throughout the air intake system and the intercooler, that is a common thing. When was the breather filter in the top of the engine last changed?

    Problems have started!

The Freelander 1 can be converted to 2 wheel drive, which helps in the case of drivetrain/rear end problems, but I don't know if the Freelander 2 can be converted. If it can, then it could help. Otherwise, the more you drive it, the more likely you are to cause catastrophic damage, unfortunately.

Freelander 2 (LR2) Freelander 2 diesel starting on 3 cylinders, now running properly, after cylinder head change.

Yep, it looks a lot more like the remains of a nut from seeing it in that second picture. How will you be proceeding, New engine, repair that one or another path?

Some type of gasket seal gunk gone badly wrong, perhaps?:confused:

What have you done to your Freelander today

Got the aircon refilled at Kwikfit. Good news is that it took a charge without any trouble. Bad news is that the compressor doesn't kick in. :( Well at least I got the refill for free, after that. Just need the new CV joint boot to be delivered so I can right the major wrongs on the old girl...

Freelander 1 Stereo Wiring Help Please

My ISO adapter was from Halfords, and listed for a Ford Transit on a 2005 TD4. I don't have the box to hand at the moment, but possibly this thing...

fuel pump regulator test Freelander 1 td4 2003

I think you have had a copy part. All the ones I see on eBay have the connector straight out of the back, the first I saw with a right-angle connector was a Mercedes specification part. I'll try to remember to check mine on the car in the morning.

fuel pump regulator test Freelander 1 td4 2003

Almost certainly right, GrumpyGel, I just knew that the engine changed around 2000 to 2001, and have almost bought a few L Series parts myself before luckily spotting my impending mistake. The other likely reasons of a different look to the pump regulator are a design update or a pattern part...

The 2001 model you looked at may have been for the Di L series diesel engine, instead of your TD4 M47 engine. Just a possibility.

    turns over but won’t fire

Standard garage can do it, but a Land Rover specialist should have more specific knowledge of the causes. Take your pick for a plain diagnostic appointment. For a service, the specialists can work out better, but not always.

What have you done to your Freelander today

I got a power file sander attachment for my angle grinder pretty cheap from Banggood. It is probably also available on eBay and other sources.

The limited access around the turbo should have kept things interesting for you. It isn't as bad as some other cars, though.

Just found out a friend is off to Devon. She could at least have volunteered transport services for me, lol.

What have you done to your Freelander today

One of the electronics Youtubers I watch, Julian Ilett just gave a shout-out to his friend, John Nodge, on one of his videos. Is that you?

Hmmm... I thought Nodge said his was a manual. How much is your V6 looking at?
