Wolf style rim retrofit to 1983 110

I will try and remember to check the series when I am back in the country. In the mean time here are some pictures (blown up from other pics) of the td5 which looks like the the studs sit flush on the back and maybe one thread short on the front but they are the factory original studs and...

Wolf style rim retrofit to 1983 110

The price is about the same here which is why the military did not want to do that and why most people do not either. Myself included. I run them on my series and my td5 neither of which have the longer studs both of which have the increased torque setting.

Wolf style rim retrofit to 1983 110

Where as that is true. In the case of the military land rovers. They spend far more time on the road than they do at war!

How did you feed the loom into the cab?

I think the answer is the same. You come down from the roof into the engine bay and then through the factory grommets. You really don’t want to be drilling holes in the roof. They leak enough already. Hence my comment about a snorkel’s main function being cable routing!

How did you feed the loom into the cab?

As above from @Hicap phill I have additional cable loom entering the dash both sides in the own cable grommet panels. There is one each side and wishbone has the ability to take three grommets. But I would only use that for the switch feed. I would not be putting the relay behind the dash. My...

    What’s it worth?

I would second that. I am converting my hardtop to a station wagon having had a child! A hicap even less people friendly. At least I had 4 side facing seats in the back of the hardtop. Limited audience limited value.

    What’s it worth?

Why do you want a value? Is it for insurance or for a sale? If insurance I would value at about 25k if for sale I will give you £1500 and collect tomorrow and I might even throw in the snickers from the dashboard! If you want a true value I would guess at somewhere in between. But be aware...

    Aux Switch Location?

It is in part 6 on the part diagram above, and will have a plastic blanking plate filling the hole. the hole is sized for a switch the same as in the three switch panel by your knee. Looking at the pic below it is just a single switch position, but mean no modifications required for a single...

    Aux Switch Location?

Move the dog light to the steering column like the older ones have using the headlight atyle Switch and you would then have a spare space. But there should be at least one might even be two spaces on the underside of the dash binicle that you could use. Which might be what @Anaconda was...

    Series 2 Bertha - 1971 Series 2a LWB

I think if you remove the filler that will tidy up ok with a coat of paint. My wings on the series are Frankenstein wings (although not to that extent) made from three different wings rivetted together.

    Bikes & a 90????

I mean you are all wrong. If you want to wear spandex and transport hateful objects you should just buy a 110 hardtop. No problem fitting four adult bikes in the back and as well as not needing to buy extra fitting and attachments you get the extra bonus not driving a matchbox car!

series 3 - conversion from drum to disc brakes

These are the two key statements on this thread rather than the debate about discs vs drums. it is the servo that changes the amount of pedal pressure required. My series 3 does not have a functioning servo anymore (it is fitted with one) and the amount of pressure required is huge, however even...

    Series 2 Bertha - 1971 Series 2a LWB

Disagree, just chip off all the old filler, give it a light sand and paint over the dents to keep its history rather than trying to get it perfect. They were not perfect form the factory as they were made by hammer swinging brummies! All you need to do to make it like that is give it a good...

    New Alternator (300tdi)

See the below Copied from my burnt out rebuild thread, this is what I have fitted to my 200tdi, but I had to swap the pulleys over from a serpentine one. This has the w post, and replaces the magneti marelli 100amp alternator from a v8 that was fitted before the fire, will try and find the part...

    Engine swap ideas

Completely agree. The primarily usage is what is the deciding factor. My primary usage is unloaded motorway so makes sense for me. It will do mountains and it will tow with the higher gearing (hence disagreeing with people who say it won’t) but would not be suitable for either of those things to...

Wolf style rim retrofit to 1983 110

Land Rover did approve and increased the torque value to compensate. That is why the feedback you get from Google and this thread etc is focused on the torque spec. But I understand you need a Land Rover publication stating that rather than a group of strangers on the internet!
