Great thread. You've made about as much progress already as I've managed in two years!!

A morning of fiddle faddling and everything came together eventually. I've trimmed 3mm off the top of the leading shoe which allowed the drum to slot on smoothly. Everything else slotted together nicely so I now have three wheels on and the fourth should go on next weekend!

Additional plan. I'll fit the old shoes and see if everything slots into place. Then at least I'll know it's something to do with the new ones then. (Alternative thinking is that BritPart shoes are maybe not as good as they could be ???!!!)

Needs a further kick in the morning I think.

Original drums, shoes are exactly the same as the ones I took off and I think I've got adjusters right. Only difference is the lack of rust!!

OK I've looked at it from every which way but can't make my drums fit. What am I doing wrong?

Not 100% myself yet! I'll need to take it all off again to get the gaiter and fixings on so I can adjust as required. I just got excited after getting all the rust off and making it look like it should!

Feels so good putting bits back on rather than always taking bits off!

Slight crisis of confidence before adding oil. I assume that I fill from these points until it reaches the point when it starts coming out?

Probably a daft question but someone has to ask it to stop others feeling daft! What oil goes into the diff? Plenty came out but I don't know h what to put back in?

Cleaned off the axle (had a look inside but there seemed to be no damage, no metal in the oil so shut it up quick!). Started to refit the front springs and axle. Got frustrated when the shocks seemed too short but JamesMartin was as helpful as ever when he pointed out that I needed some...

I suppose under complete conditions the springs will be under the weight of the engine and gearbox so yes, simple it is!

Is it really that simple?

After 2 years in bits my old girl is slowly coming back together. Rear springs and axle went back on like a dream. Front shocks and axle slotted in nicely but I can't fit my shocks as they cannot stretch far enough. I have gone back over my original pictures and everything seems the same but...
