Thanks, I have an angle grinder to use as a spanner and intend to replace all bolts required. I know for a fact the fastenings are united! I will ensure I have everything in place before disabling vehicle, as I will be using a clients work space, not asked yet either, sure they will be fine...

Freelander 1 Planned maintenance ( Rear Subframe )

eBay has a vehicle check service, which said a 5 foot wouldn't fit, not sure how reliable that check is though, worth checking before I commit to a purchase. Could you expand on the structure improvement? Would like to do the best job I can, not is due in March iirc, certainly not until 2018...

Freelander 1 Planned maintenance ( Rear Subframe )

Thanks @Nodge68 the Galve was an after thought, and suspected it would be pricey. Incidentally I did a search on eBay, and only 5 door SF's came up, at about £40.

Freelander 1 Planned maintenance ( Rear Subframe )

Hi All, On the last MOT been advised that the rear subframe will require attention before next MOT, a good tester and every advisory he has given me I have fixed when returning, he knows I want to keep the vehicle. As I will have some time over the winter, I plan to get another rear subframe (...

Freelander 1 My Freelandering Days May Be Over...

Glad Mrs. Pilot is OK, shame about the FL Sport. Just had a thought if you are breaking this vehicle, I may be interested in the front seats for my commercial. If that was a possibility I could arrange to meet you at Forton services or Tickle trout, Preston on the M6.

L322 Anyone want to watch an L322 burn?

Take your point and accept it. Sure there was a case a while back where somebody bought a luxury car, didn't ever take it back to be serviced, attempted a warranty claim and lost. The PPI is because of wording in the contract, and the forced sale, take out this insurance and we will give you...

The Land Rover Story - 1948

Sorry double post internet got stolen for a bit and I got impatient. Edit: It was that @Turboman that got me into LR, I had the series 1 whilst lodging at his gaff, paid £800 for a vehicle that hadn't had an MoT for over a year and had done something stupid like 30 miles in 3 years, cost 22 new...

The Land Rover Story - 1948

Oh I have had a series 1, a 2000 hippo, and then the facelift which I have now and will probably keep, a commercial 55 plate and my Mrs has an auto 54 plate sport, both 3 door hippos. As for driving, I occcasionally tow a 3.5 ton trailer, the company used to use defenders however one weekend...

See I know you like them really, hippo made it, 90 needed a helping hand. Ok the FL2 driver was a bit concerned, maybe a first timer in his pride and joy, but it coped. I have been on two wheels in a disco 6 this week, shame they wouldn't let me drive.

L322 Anyone want to watch an L322 burn?

Please forgive me if I am wrong, but seeing as you did law, wouldn't LR have a reasonable doubt as to how the engine has been treated during the run in period till you had it serviced by a LR agent ? If they fitted it and then didn't see it again for XL miles surely that would give them a legal...

    Disco 2 Electrical guru please?

Would it be possible to attach a Bluetooth OBD2 device and hook that into an Arduino/ Raspberry Pi, which could detect speed via ECU? Never tried this but would think the only way to detect speed electronically would be via the ECU. You can certainly hook arduino and raspberry up to a...
