I think mine hs the same bulb type for dipped and main beam. Mine is a 2006 TD4. Never had to change the main beam bulbs so far after around 6 years of ownership.

A lot of garages seem to use this method these days. :(

I refitted the EGR on my 06 TD4 two weeks prior to the MOT as I didn't want to take the risk of it failing. I replaced the blank after it passed and the difference was obvious. Much more responsive with the blank.

I now have all year tyres or whatever they are called but have yet to encounter anything more than what I would call a dusting of snow. I pray for snow every day in the Winter as I love snow. :D

They are usually guaranteed for at least a few months. Long enough to pass an mot then blank again.

Google is your friend. I bought a second hand egr after blanking mine and not keeping the EGR valve for just over £20.

My 2006 TD4 does similar.
