Disco 2 A MAF problem, or not?.

Just been on the net surfing around this afternoon and found a clip on you tube on checking the MAF. Only 3 wires, one at battery power 12v, center wire from ECU, third wire earth from ECU. First wire shows 12v as it should, but centre ECU wire which should show 1.9v with key on and 3v with...

Disco 2 A MAF problem, or not?.

Have to wait while next Tuesday to have the work done, as there is a backlog of jobs after the mechanics holiday. Starting with a new MAF and EGR removal. I am a little worried as he mentioned the xyz switch in the conversation regarding the two green M&S dash lights. I sense my new purchase may...

Disco 2 Flashing m+s lights, limp mode, no autographs or digital gear display

I love reading about this kind of a problem, it is really interesting. The only trouble I have is that I have no clue whatever is going on, it's way way beyond my understanding. I can only admire the posters who can understand it all, I take my hat off to you.

Disco 2 A MAF problem, or not?.

Thank You very much for posting Roy, I appreciate your and others help. I will follow the advice given and see what happens, if I find the "fix" I will post on here as it may help others. Been down to my local independent LR garage this morning to see if they had a genuine MAF on the shelf, no...

Disco 2 A MAF problem, or not?.

Thank you for the prompt reply sierrafery. As stated above I will swap the MAF out first job, hopefully it would be a relatively cheap fix. Regarding the EGR, as I write this the replacemant sits on my coffee table waiting to be fitted. I will examine the MAP sensor and ECU red plug for...

Disco 2 A MAF problem, or not?.

Thanks for the prompt reply Roy. The sport /manual green lights do appear when the ignition is turned on, and go off with the rest of the system check lights. I will try to get the nanocom readings done, the only problem been waiting for the "limp mode" to occur again as it comes and goes...

Disco 2 A MAF problem, or not?.

Took my recently acquired Disco 2 Td5 2004 for a service this morning. On collection this evening, all well, except the mechanic tells me the MAF is disconnected. When connected and taken on a test run, Disco runs sick, no throttle low revs, into limp mode. Disconnect and it goes ok again. Now...

Done to Death 2004 TD5 Headlight Anti Theft Measures

Yes this subject has been done to death I know but, giving the front end a bit of a clean I got round to the headlights. I found one was a bit loose so gave it a bit of a pull and honestly I could have pulled it off. I think the little bracket next to the grill must be broken, and at the other...

Disco 2 2004 Radio Cage Removal

Thanks for that, nice to know help is there when required. I have the new Radio/CD player installed now, and it sounds fine. But there is a glitch somewhere. Radio on before starting the engine, engine starts and radio stops playing but all it's dials are still illuminated, bugger. Radio on...

Disco 2 2004 Radio Cage Removal

Thanks for the info. I had a little probe with a screwdriver and they are very soft material indeed. If I don't have any luck any other way, looks like the screwdriver will be brought into action. Regards Phil*

Disco 2 2004 Radio Cage Removal

I have removed the radio/tape and CD control wireless from my Disco 2 in anticipation of fitting my new Radio/CD player. Removal was pretty straightforward after gleaning the required info from the site, thanks to those who posted the info. I hoped my new radio would fit in the existing metal...

New to it all myself, but it seems some faults are pretty much standard to me. Had to have a few jobs done on mine, and I have only had it a few weeks as well. Phil*

    A bar Fitment

Looking at fitting an A bar to the Disco 2 chaps. Most advertised come with a fitting kit. Just what do they fit to under the bumper. Any drilling required, or are they just bolt on and go. I realise different Bars may fit differently, but I guess many have been fitted by the forum members. It's...

    300 v td5

I know very little about the engine differences, but a 300 can be repaired with chewing gum, string and gaffa tape, where as the Td5 is very electrikery and may require electronic stuff to repair it. So I am told. Phil*

    Re mapping

Aye, I am sure Mike will travel the length of the Country to Re-map the Disco's. When he left me in Sheffield after coming down from Newcastle, I'm pretty certain his next day was to be spent in the Kent area. His customer service is 11/10, aye he is that good. Phil*
