    could the broken belt have severed a cable (camshaft sensor for example) Have a good look round for other damage

    so its a manual box - in that case ATF will surely kill it ????? could be that the old oil was so thick and grotty that it prevented the noise ??????????

    Let us know how you get on - i did my first clutch change the hard way - box off whilst engine in car Maybe its worth dropping the engine next time - would certainly make putting the box back a lot easier !!

    You could use BMW Felgen Silber - its the "standard" silver wheel finish - finish off with a coat or 2 of clear laquer As said above - the secret is in the preparation

    Ok - understood Sounds like a nice puzzle to fix I have a 2003 Td4 - if you need specifics I can maybe help although taking photos behind the engine isn't easy

    Juddering!!

    I put a LUK replacement clutch in mine The kit included slave cylinder, friction disk and pressure plate It's a bit of a job because of removing things to get the box off. And the box is heavy - I recommend 2 people or some sort of engine hoist to take the weight
