P38A P38 EAS valve block/compressor rebuild kits etc. ? Best

Hi Is the Compressor seal & liner & valve block O ring & diaphragm kit sold by X8rltd (Kieran Mannings) on EBay for £39.99 any good ? Or would it be more sensible to go to one of the main Land/Range Rover suppliers (if so, which one ?) and buy the kit they sell ? Thanks.

P38A P38 EAS valve block/compressor rebuild kits etc. ? Best

Hi I have the usual EAS problems on a 1999 P38. I am resisting the temptation to put it on springs in view of the advice on the Forum ! I am a little uncertain what bits I need to buy in advance to rebuild the valve block etc and the compressor (the air bags have already been replaced)...

    EAS problem AGAIN !!

Thanks again Datatek. I have a spare drivers pack which came with the compressor I have just fitted. Perhaps it would be worth substituting this or at least checking the plug to it ? Is it easy to fit a drivers pack ? Other posts seem to be saying that you have to remove the valve block ...

    EAS problem AGAIN !!

Thanks Datatek very much for the reply. Definitely have not had the "slow 35 max" message. However I was not so sure about the up arrow so just went out to check. Started it up and it went to single top light (of the 4) lit up. I have not had that before !! Took that to mean that it was...

    EAS problem AGAIN !!

Sorry I think I should have posted the details below as a new thread and not as a continuation of an old thread. Any help gratefully received. I had a previous problem and found that fuse 40 was blown (it wasnt very obvious when I checked it first of all). What I didnt appreciate is that fuse...

    P38 diesel wont turn over

Found the problem in the end which was a bit obvious I suppose. In fact fuse 40 was blown (it wasnt very obvious when I checked it first of all). What I didnt appreciate is that fuse 40 covers starting and the EAS. Cause of blown fuse was that the EAS compressor's conrod had broken (Yes...

    P38 diesel wont turn over

Hi Thanks for all the help and will leave the XYZ switch alone. Thanks very much for the warning ! Everything at the fuse box/relays seems ok and therefore I wonder whether the problem is to do with the immobiliser and BECM. For a long time we have had the locking/unlocking door problem...

    P38 diesel wont turn over

Thanks very much Wammers. Can I only get to the XYZ switch from underneath or is it easier from above. Do they often go wrong ? Can they be taken apart and repaired as it seems that some of the earlier ones could be ? Thanks very much

    P38 diesel wont turn over

Just checked fuse 40. Intact. Now mystified ! Can hear the relay near/in the ecu (under passenger seat) operating but cannot hear anything at the fuse box under the bonnet. Presumably that should tell me something ! Is there anything like an inhibitor switch for the gear lever position. If...

    P38 diesel wont turn over

Thanks Wammers and Datatek. Just checked the fuses but there is no Main fuse 2. The other 4 look intact. No one has messed with the car to my knowledge so it would seem that there has never been a Main fuse 2. Is this likely to be correct ?? Cant identify which is the starter relay. I...

    P38 diesel wont turn over

Thanks very much Datatek for reply. Yes definitely in P or N and I moved it in and out of the various gears (and low ratio positions) a number of times. Will check the relay. Thanks.

Hi. Any advice very gratefully received. Year 2000 P38 diesel auto. Moved it yesterday without problems. Came to start it this morning and it wont turn over. All the dash lights etc come on as normal. Horn and lights work so battery seems fine ( new about 6 months ago). No sound of...

    EAS Compressor fault

Hi Just a bit of advice that may help someone else. I had an EAS problem in January which I solved mainly with the great help of Wammers and Datatek. The main problem was solved with a new Dunlop compressor as the original was completely shot- although there were other issues which needed...

    P38 EAS suspension problems

Hi EAS still operating ok but I am still concerned to try and find out what the problem was (apart from the compressor). The vehicle normally lives outside. In the terrible weather conditions we have been having. When the problem occurred I put it in the garage and it had been there for about...
