Hi Mr V, i'm not sure i get this thing with your head. If you've had it skimmed at a engineering shop it will be flat and if it was that warped that it was beyond being skimmed then they should have told you instead of wasting your time and money. Are you sure you haven't missed something?

On the more expensive welders they have a replaceable plastic liner, but on the cheeper ones the whole gun has to be replaced. Happens a lot when someone learning to weld, damages the liner when the wire gets stuck at wrong ampage settings, but it's the only way to learn. Hate it at work when...

Hi Chris, sorry i haven't had chance to get down the workshop yet and check that out, been really busy over the Easter holiday with family stuff.

A few of us popped out last Friday and did some of the local lanes. Haven't been out for ages, just not had the spare time.

I've got a new Midland I bought about a year ago and it is nowhere near as good as my 1980's York set. If you want cheep but good get one of the older CB's off ebay for about £20. Look for the main makes and you can't go to far wrong, York . Harrier. Audioline, Midland. Fidelity, 80's radios far...

Not a lot, just up the workshop sorting things out. That's good news with the 90 Medusa, i'm still keeping an eye out for a good rear axle.
