It was a fuse (I think). Took it out, gave it a clean and then it started working.

Hello, I bought a Series III a fortnight ago (1st Land Rover I've owned) and want to put a kill switch in. Am I correct in thinking a switch in the starter solenoid (red/white) feed wire from the ignition switch would work? It's petrol by the way.

Hi, just purchased a 90 Td5 and have checked the VIN closely - I was expecting to see a value of '8' in the eigth digit to signify engine type 'Td5'. However the value in that field is '5' - and all of the VIN decoders the engine values seem to go 1,2,3,6,8,9 - no mention of 5 and what 5...

Nice one - so it looks like it really is a Td5. Is the engine number on the block stamped on top of the exhaust manifold?

Thats what I thought too - according to www.clifton.nl/calvin.html my landy is a Defender, 92.9 inch wheelbase, 2 door van, with engine type 2.5 ltr Td5 (EU5 spec), RH drive, 5-speed manual, year 2002 made in Solihull. What on earth is a EU5 spec engine?
