Freelander 1 td4 making a smokescreen. Mainly white smoke worst on starting and under acceleration. Suspect maybe turbo as now making grating noise when revved. If I'm right do I need to replace turbo or will cartridge suffice. Grateful for any help or advice. Thanks.

For info, as think may be causing some confusion, top VCU in pic is the V6 one bottom is the TD4. Thanks Rocco, found it. Appears damper is virtually only difference. Gonna go ahead and fit full unit on basis that if gives any probs will then swap VCU's. Just need to decide whether to get...

I can't see mine either but, to be honest, I don't have a problem. I only use full on backroads etc and you know when its on or not. I also tend to notice other lights approaching so know when I'll need to dip. Simples. [emoji4]
