    Front apron and bumper fitment.

Does anyone have a close up pic of how the front apron panel and bumper fits? Does the apron fit separately to the bumper or does it sit on top of the brackets for the bumper? I take it the front just gets screwed to the chassis with self tappers? Thanks. Norrie.

Price others have paid for resto?

Oh ok you should be ok for an mot for the next few years anyhow judging by all the work she's had. Can't wait to see the pics.

Price others have paid for resto?

Yep that sounds about right. How good does it make you feel that you will have no mot or tax costs and the insurance is so cheap? :) Norrie

    Ignition system

Ok so is a Duceiller dizzy then? The head has a raise section but I can't see any numbers stamped on it. However I have now Googled the engine no which starts with 901 which indicates it's a hp engine. It's just I ordered plugs from Paddocks for an hp engine and the thread is too big. Norrie

    Ignition system

How do I know what ignition system I have? I can’t see any marking on the dizzy. It has a brown cap so I’m assuming it’s a Ducelier? Also how do you know if your engine is high or low compression? It’s a 1975 Series 3. Thanks Norrie.

Price others have paid for resto?

Oh and it’s very cheap to insure with a low mileage etc. Norrie.

Make sure you insure the Landy as a classic car with an agreeed value. Phone up somewhere like Adrian Flux. You will need to provide pics and receipts etc to prove all the work done and explain it would cost you that to replace the car. I would say about £8k but then I don’t know what they would...

    Misfiring

I've now done a compression test. Getting 1-130, 2-100, 3-125, 4-130. So ok No2 is down but not that much to indicate head gasket failure. I’ve done the tappets and set the ignition timing. Was thinking of going electronic ignition so might just order a complete new dizzy with leads etc. Got new...

    Misfiring

Yep done that. 1342. Starting at the top right of the dizzy which is what it was before.

    Misfiring

Ok after bolting everything back on the engine I got it started but it runs like a dog. It doesn't seem to be firing properly on cylinders 2 and 3. If you pull the leads off 1 by1 the engine nearly cuts out if you pull no1 or 4 off but you can take 2 and 3 off and it makes very little...

    Painting inside of panels

Yeah. Not sure what to do. I've ordered loads of paint so have enough to paint the inside if I want. I might paint and then underseal/shutz for added protection.

    Painting inside of panels

Ok guys. So I’m in the middle of restoring my Series 3 and I’m wondering do you guys recommend painting the interior of the panels? I’ve noticed that the inside of all the panels aren’t painted originally but I’m thinking they will be better protected against corrosion if there painted. Either...

Mini restoration of my 75 Series 3

Fitted the exhaust and fuel tank. Filled the red with coolant. Fitted the battery and it started although only for a short while as I think I'm out of fuel. Getting excited now. :)

Thanks guys. Had a day off yesterday. Going to fit the exhaust today and fill it with coolant. Hopefully it will still run. Norrie.

    Distributor cap query

    Yeah that.

    Distributor cap query

I take it you’ve put fresh oil in it. I would remove the spark plugs and squirt a little oil down the bores. Then turn the engine over by hand to coat the bores. Norrie.

Mini restoration of my 75 Series 3

Waxoyled the chassis today. Had to drill a couple of extra holes to get good coverage but pumped about 2.5 litres in there. Norrie.

    Brake pipe routing

To be honest I think I've got a pipe flarer. I just can't find it. Oh and not a problem making them up as I used to be a motor mechanic. It was just for quickness and donut was easier. Turns out the kit I've got is for one without a servo when mine has a servo. Bummer. Norrie
