    Dash recovering

She tried foam under it but couldn't quite get the hang of it so going to put a second layer on instead. Kind of wished we had bought thicker vinyl but then it would have been harder to stretch. Norrie .

Mini restoration of my 75 Series 3

Rubbed down with a DA sander with 320 grit. Etch primed, Undercoated usually 2 coats. Flattened back down with 600/800 grit and then 2 coats of gloss. Tried not to thin the paint but had trouble with the hot weather so thinned it about 10%. It's not as good as it looks in the pics but it's food...

Mini restoration of my 75 Series 3

Glazed the door tops today. Not a hard job at all. Don't know why I've put it off for weeks. The kit I got from Paddocks didn't include the seal between the glass but I've worked out I can fit it later.

Mini restoration of my 75 Series 3

Riveted the roof back together today. I was going to hire the proper rivet squeezer and hollow rivets but there was a 3 week waiting list. I managed to borrow my mates pneumatic riveter and just used solid rivets. My mate used to be an aircraft engineer so had skin pins to lign everything up...

Thanks for that. I've ordered 5 Metres off eBay as it wasn't to expensive and I might need to recover a seat. I'm thinking contact adhesive will help keep it in place. Norrie.

    Battery isolating switch

Ok after reading some horror stories of dash fires etc I’m thinking of fitting a bis switch to enable me to isolate all the electrics at once. Where do you guys have them fitted and where can you buy a good quality one. I’m thinking on the seat box somewhere. Norrie.

Riveting the roof gutter back on.

Ok so the roof is painted ready to be riveted back onto the roof gutter after galvanising. Now I was going to hire a rivet squeezer from Bits 4 Landys but there is a 3 week waiting list as it is out at the moment with another 2 people waiting. Does anyone have one they could sell me or lend to...

    Roof and sides installation.Series 3.

Ok so I’ve managed to get my arse back into gear and started working on the Landy again. Does someone have some pics on how the sides bolt down onto the tub? I’ve fitted the new seals today with a bit of Tiger seal just to hold them in place. I plan on fitting the sides loose before fitting the...

Series 3 Propshaft UJs don't take grease

I had the same problem. I have now bought a new end for the grease gun and no problems now. If in doubt take the nipple off and check it is clear then try and pump some grease through it. Norrie.

    Headliner

Ok so I've just painted my roof inside and out and someone said in the winter it will condensate and drip all over the seats etc. So my question is what have you guys done? I was thinking about getting some of the carpet that they use on the inside of camper conversions. Thanks. Norrie.
