I thought I would check with you guys as some of you know yer stuff..
My 1998 4.6 gems engine has a cracked block. 120k
I have a good 1998 4.0 gems engine spare. 108k
If I get the 4.0 block top hat lined will it slip seamlessly in to replace the 4.6 damaged block.
so far I don't think I have to...
You could open a museum with that lot....
Worth a fair bit of money today.
Over 30 years of motorcycling I did abuse a fair few bikes as a courier during my yoof.
Looking at current prices, I'm kicking myself now.
I'm looking for a 4.6 gems v8 to drop effortlessly into my bitch of a P38.
Would prefer low milage, self installing engine capable of 200mph.
Failing that, any good running petrol 4.6 gems v8, with no issues will be greatfully received.
I'm in Bristol but do have access to teleportation device.
Was smiling until I fired her up...Ran ok for a minute, then spluttered and hydrolocked on cylinder 7..the very same reason I changed the head gaskets. Anyone seem any affordable top hat cylinder blocks around or have any suggestions ??
Bloody best weather weekend this year and I'm stuck under the sluts bonnet on the drive.....I've been burnt to a fr1ggin crisp sorting both head gaskets.
But am smiling now...Allbeit with dry crispy split lips and dry eyeballs.
Enjoy the weather they said...
Many thanks...I have been assured that PFI don't supply britpart and that's what I was worried about. I have ordered a PFI, P38 fos bearing for half the cost of timken.
I will see if they last half as long and let you all know.....I just hope they don't contain any chinesium or cheese metal.
I have found a supplier for P38 wheel bearings but can not find any reviews. It's an American company called PFI.
Has anyone fitted front wheel bearings made by these guys ??
I'm moving on up to a l322 and want this cabin style in the cheaper car tax bracket, upto 2006, I think.
What are my petrol options, 4.2, 4.4, supercharged, vogue, etc etc
It's next on the list to come out with the engine..I will check to see if it's either the 4HP22 or the 4HP24 and let you know ?
Which model do you need ??
You have a nice looking truck there, hard work but well worth it.
I'm happy with the 30mm wheel spacers I fitted last year.. feels tighter on corners and looks good.
Personally Im not a fan of sticky backed chrome coloured plastic parts but I do have light protectors incase I have to drive...
Get rid of it immediately.....
Like I should have done 8 years ago, before I got hooked.
Some of it was designed in a lunatic asylum with crayons. I was mesmerised.
I had a similar problem just last month, which turned out to be the belt tensioner bearings... With engine running you should see it flapping about like a hookers pants in a gale instead of gently rolling..
