Is there any way of telling that my engine has had the factory mod. I have been told it was done...but without detailed service history that could mean anything.

Hi, just bought my first freelander and its great. Except it only has one key and fob. Called the local dealer and I nearly called an ambulance when they told me the price of the key...£94.75...and the Fob...£70.00 including programming. There has simply got to be an easy way around this....HELP.
