How do I switch the immobiliser off altogether, by plugging a reader into it? I read somewhere that can be done?

Latest is when car immobilises, if I reach back and hold key up to the IR box and press unlock, immobiliser goes off and I can start the car. 70pc of the time, the m and s lights come on and car can drive but Is in limp home mode If I lock and unlock a few times with the key reached back...

Ok so bearing in mind the fob works when its right up against the receiver (headlining is out) then its a signal issue either with the receiver or the fob?

Sierra my old friend... I have worked something out... if I hold the original fob right beside the receiver at the rear sunroof, it stops the alarm and immobiliser.if I stand well back, it doesnt... so... does that suggest a problem with the receiver if it only works with the key right beside...

Could this rust in the battery compartment of the fob be causing my problem of the immobiliser only once every few times immobilising and only sometimes deimmobilise when I press the unlock button on the fob? The led lights up every time but doesnt always switch the alarm off?

Well the very patient and very kind local mechanic helped me out. Car just started again on it's own He checked the battery which tested as "good" BUT The negative terminal on the battery moved when he was unscrewing the cable and the positive terminal has actual gouges out of it, proper gaps...

Ah can you? Where from? I've had the headliner out for weeks with the intention of removing the sunroof and resealing but the thought of snapping the plastic and ruining the cup bits puts me off! If I do snap them I can use a biro?!

Do the drain tubes just pull off the cups? Mine feel as if I will snap the plastic if I pull on them :(

The einstein glued mine in, so didnt work using pliers, had to be destroyed!

Yeah the previous guy (seems like an einstein so far eh!) Has put so much silicone over the outer seal that I dokt know where the seal and the sealant merge! As its bonded I should be able to just take all of that off with no risk eh? Then apply sealant and get a new windscreen outer trim/seal?

Whereabouts do you physically seal though?

Haha what have I started..!! To update... Transplanted my circuit board into a new key fob casing, along with my original blade. Changed the battery too. Had my car battery tested and it was "good". Car has been fine since yesterday but got a feeling I will be back on this thread... Ideally...

First of all thank you so much for your help, I know I come across thick! Definitely only a circuit board in mine, nothing else Is the transducer maybe on a different models key? All I'm struggling with now is how to get the blade out!!!

Ok thank you Daft question though, its obvious what the circuit board is to swap over into the new original key fob but where is the transducer?

God sake Went out to car to unlock it and alarm went off and wouldn't stop!!! What is going on here!? :(

Can you link it for me please? Also, do the drain tubes just pull off of the drain cups? I tried but just feels like it is going to snap it :(
