FIXED!!! Early 90 door lock barrel replacement problem

I was a bit peeved (well, livid more like) at finding out it was all a waste of time so by the time the ball bearing fell out I was seeing red mist - but IIRC it was between the barrel and holder in the little hollow there, then it all 'tucks' back into the mechanism. So it all spins around in...

FIXED!!! Early 90 door lock barrel replacement problem

I had the same issue as you - the seller swore blind the barrels were to fit all models even though I pointed out what version door I had. Anyway, likewise the ball bearing fell out when I pulled out the inner, but having managed to wangle it back in (just tipping it back in at the right angle...

Thanks both - I'll have a good look tomorrow.

P6 V8 manifolds and loss of power

Thanks this does mirror what I heard elsewhere as well - I am a bit confused now though, as today it did it at about 35mph and hadn't been going for long so either it's getting worse or it was just coincidence it was all at >50 before. Also now having to use the 'cold start' to get it going and...

P6 V8 manifolds and loss of power

Hi - OK I know almost nothing about V8s except I'm obsessed with the sound, so bear with me! Two questions: First: Recently bought a S2a 109 which has a V8 which I'm told is from a Rover P6. It keeps losing power, tends to happen at speed (60ish) but don't know if that's relevant, basically...

Indicator dash light not working - one side only

1986 Ninety. Just redid all the lights as they were a mess. Indicators working fine, but all of a sudden the dash turn light has stopped working when turning right - the indicators themselves work fine, and everything works as it should when turning left. So can't quite figure out what it should...

    Idle rattle checklist

Hi - Have trawled the archives but grateful for any thoughts! TD5 engine c.185k miles, has just developed a pretty harsh rattle, only really noticeable at idle (or v low speeds) - happens in gear or out. I've seen a couple obvious things it could be, namely: 1) the crankshaft pulley damper...

    Steve's unexpected Series 3 rebuild.

Hang in there mate, you've done such an amazing job so far, it's been a real pleasure to read! Always read about low points but you'll sort it for sure. Is there something nice on it you can mess about with for a while, get your mojo back? (I find painting quite therapeutic for example.)

    Defender clutch

Just a heads up - this is the 'for sale' section so you're probably in the wrong area for technical help!
