    How bad are they really?

Hi all, been quite for the last few weeks as in full swing with the move and getting things setup. To cut a long story short here is the plan... Purchased a Dacia Duster, meets our needs for most of the year and wife is learning to drive it We do need something more rugged and capable, but...

    How bad are they really?

Hey all, thanks for your great replies, I'm not going to give up  I think my main challenge is that I'm trying to fit too much into too little amount of time. PAS, lights, and Sevice really need to be actioned before I take her on such a long journey - I'm asking for trouble not doing so...

    How bad are they really?

Wow, well that was a drive ill never forget! 170+ miles, 4.5h, over an hour looking for non-existent LPG stations what royally ****** me off :mad: Never driven a car of this age or without PAS, so it was an experience - 30mins in on the motorway I was enjoying it, but then hitting smaller...

    How bad are they really?

@waldamar will be sure to get you a finders pint ;) My use will be mostly as a workhorse to get around the local town and to our cottage that only has a mud and gravel road - I have gotten 4 cars stuck up there in the last few months and that's without bad weather or snow! Lel concerns lucky...

What to do and progress to date... Landy for Poland

Ahh thanks waldamar, i saw the tag - appreciate it. I'm now starting to consider plan B... buy a LHD freelander and drive it over for the wife. Then get a 110 insurance write-off and a galvanised chassis and do a complete bottom up rebuild - guess it's the best way to learn! Just means I will...

    Very Reluctant Sale. Defender

Thanks @DiscoPol, have considered this but a 110 is tempting me....

What to do and progress to date... Landy for Poland

Thanks both, the more I think about it the more sense a Defender 110 makes, I can justify easier to the wife if we can lug things around in it. Agree with LPG, the 110 is diesel so no help there (from what I understand, LPG is best for petrol engines), we will need a smaller second run around...

What to do and progress to date... Landy for Poland

Hey Waldemar, Good points, as is a LR best, I'm keen to get something I'll be interested in maintaining - that's what I have been telling the wife! Luckily there is an OK gauge just down hill from us to roll down to and also a more highly rated gauge 15mins away as and when assistance is required
