    The Hole in my pocket!

Here is the link to the album: Defender Photos by MOB993 | Photobucket I haven't had the chance to look properly but it was the first thing that came to mind. I think its engine oil, jet black. can be seen in this pic.

    The Hole in my pocket!

Yes 110 not a defender, It is high mileage but will change to 200tdi in the near future. I was searching on landyzone and it seems to be a common problem with the 19J's to breathe their own oil, so I'm assuming its this. the little pool of oil is beside the front left wheel so i didn't think...

    The Hole in my pocket!

So I've been lurking on here and stalking Donedeal for quite a while now and I have finally got my first Defender. :biggrin1: The Honey Badger (as it will now be called) is a 1989 110 Van with the original 2.5TD engine and genuine lumps and bumps. The bulkhead is in great condition as is the...

Aux Fuel Tanks & Diesel/Veg Oil Twin Tanks

Got a better idea. Jerry cans with this attachment. Sealey Jerry CAN Adaptor Double Tube JCA2 | eBay You could use just the one lid and change can to a full one when the first one empties or have a series of them. And could be stored in side lockers etc. This is the route I will be going for my...

Aux Fuel Tanks & Diesel/Veg Oil Twin Tanks

For a 2 door van type tho it would do initially. It would definitely take up too much space in a csw. I wouldn't be able to afford an aux tank or the option u mentioned at the moment and but I would add it later. At the minute my mode of transport fits something the size of a pencil case under...

Aux Fuel Tanks & Diesel/Veg Oil Twin Tanks

Don't have a landy yet(close to getting one!) but will run it on veg oil using a twin tank system. Was thinking of adding an auxillary tank for the veg oil and leaving the original tank for the diesel. Was looking at something like this till I got a proper aux tank. @ a €100 for me it would be...

    Injector pump issue?

Is a slipped cam belt a big issue? I am not a mechanic but would give most jobs a try (after a bit of research) Would try the tdi conversion myself but don't have the funds at the minute.

    Injector pump issue?

Didn't check throttle did use glow plugs. He said he had it running and would idle. what are the symptoms of a failed injector? if the lift pump is knackered it would still run wouldn't it.

    Injector pump issue?

Hi folks, I am looking at picking up an 1986 110 Landrover with the 2.5n/a engine. It is advertised as having an injector problem and when I spoke to the owner he said that he bought it with this problem and it would start and idle but wouldnt drive. He also said that he tried towing it and that...

    Maybe a safari top??

    Not pop-top but flip top!

Was thinking that a 90 could definitely be used if you pop the entire roof vertically and it would leave space for 2 adults to sleep in bunks like below.. Although this in a 110 but the best example..

    Not pop-top but flip top!

Seen this video too and its what got me started with this idea. And to be honest i think that if i was to use a 2seat 110 then this is the best method of creating a camper but if using an esatate 110 with 4seats then a flip top would be best. The reason is that with the 2 seater i would only be...

    Not pop-top but flip top!

Seen that too:eek::eek: But would it not be even more cramped than the section its coming out of. By the way I'm not set on using the 90 its just that I prefer it looks wise with the 110 being the more sensible choice conversion wise.

    Not pop-top but flip top!

True..cage wouldn't be of much use if it flipped with the roof. just wonder would the local VRT crowd accept it as a legitimate camper?? They have a list of requirements such as cooker, sink, table, bed, and some other stuff too which wouldnt be difficult to accommodate but still could be picky...
