I've discovered my block used to be a petrol, apart from head and ancillaries I believe and want to change it back to petrol Do I just swap Pistons, shells, ect ......any info much appreciated

Hi all, Just bought a series 3 2.25 diesel 3 bearing engine from what I can make out the engine numbers start with 901 it's coming up as a petrol engine I'm confused can anyone enlighten me.
