It looks like 205/80/R16 setup gives maximum ride height on a freelander with standard suspension without rubbing, so no need for spacers using 205 wide tyres. Add a Bearmach 2'' lift kit into the mix, and presumably the job is done in maximising the ride height to a safe level without it...

This is a very valid point, however I think maybe people pay for a service due to not having time and also because you get a service stamp in the log-book that is essential if selling the car.
