Got it back from MOT on Friday after fitting a new front wishbones, then today I fixed the HDC switch on the gearstick. Never used it, but didn't like it not working. It's only taken me 9 years to do it..

I'm trying to find the part number for the HDC switch inside the gear lever assembly in my manual 2001 GS, and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but RAVE isn't giving me a diagram or parts list showing that part. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I've never used any sort of product on my bumpers, just a good old karcher pressure washer. I use the lance with the wet end about 2 inches from the bumper plastic and go over it slowly. You can see the colour change from light grey to dark grey immediately, and it lasts several weeks. Works...

I'm insured with Tesco on the Freelander, and when I had the Range Rover too. Both LPG, no problems with insurance on either. Listed as LPG engine modification on the certificate. I think it only put the policy up by about £10, and when I've needed to make a claim it's never been a problem.

Hi So I need to move the RR about 15 feet to get it off the road as the tax has run out. The engine is f*cked so I cant just drive it, but can I move it on the starter? Done it many times with the freelander, never done it on anything bigger.... Cheers Ian

It has a part dealer service record from new, then a bit blank, then an authorised LandRover service centre service record from my ownership.

I did law at college so I'm good at that kind of thing!

LandRover seem to be ignoring my query about engine warranties... I've contacted them directly and also sent an email to the local main dealer... Nothing but radio silence...
