How NOT to roller paint a lightweight! Good for a laugh!

Well here's first coat of the restoration effort. I was actually sad painting over what was actually a nice finish, despite the colour! Not as good a finish now but looks more like a Landy Should !

Starting motor "click" but not the usual suspects...

Update, I've just realised the box with two bolts I thought was a relay is the starter solenoid!!!! Think it's probably the culprit!!!

    Alternator issues (I think...)

I had a similar issue on my S3 Lightweight, battery not charging, and I read about the charging light being in the circuit, and if bulb is duff you won't charge. So I removed the instrument panel cleaned up wires and gave them all a wiggle and hey presto, I'm getting 14.2v when running now. I...

Starting motor "click" but not the usual suspects...

Hi all, just got my 79 lightweight S3 (only had it a week) running sweet with clean carb and a filter, only for it to stop starting. Ignition gives a single loud click but doesn't turn. Battery fully charged and checked. Took off starter, cleaned and checked/replaced. Still the click. I can...

What have you done to your Landie today.

I removed and stripped and cleaned the starter only to find there was nothing wrong with it! I also learned you can spark it with a jump lead from starting motor to battery if your cables are shot!!! ;)

Ones for office work, ones for hunting/woodland work and the light...
