Sounds like it could be your crank sensor,if you’ve got a nanocom or a Hawkeye check the rpm when cranking if it’s shows zero or an erratic number it’s your cps

Probably a good way of doing it, the ready made a frames are 2 or 3 times the price of a regular engine crane though

Suppose my best bet is to try it as is then try letting tyres down or removing wheels if needed

Good idea, would the angle of it being down at the front make it hard to remove though?

Anyone know if a standard engine crane can lift high enough the remove the engine from a lifted defender on 35” tyres? The engine is a td5 worried a standard 1 or 2 ton one won’t be able lift high enough, Cheers

Having a higher entitlement on your license doesn’t have any change on what the vehicle is rated to tow though

Yep sender are only differences between them, I had the wrong one on my 90 when I got it ran fine but fuel gauge was unreliable

Td5 gets my vote, mine makes a lovely sound and has plenty of poke

Apparently they were landrovers biggest customer for years and bought hundreds off them as an investment to hopefully appreciate in value

Sounds likely then, you can check for free by swapping the temp sensor from your fuel pressure regulator with the one for your coolant they are both the same, and if the problem goes away you've cracked it then it's just a matter of replacing the dodgy sensor with a new one

I also once had a faulty coolant temperature sensor that caused an odd revving at idle, that's also a quick fix, about two minutes, a 19mm spanner and about 18 quid if I remember correctly
