What have you done to your Freelander today

I do have a weighty torque wrench but rounded 1 if the corners attempting it. Theyre super soft & in all round bad shape. Pre wd40'd but to no avail. Looks like I could do with new calipers etc is cutting the bolts & replacing everything a possibility if all else fails?

    Freelander 1 235 55 18 at3 on a Sport model.

Also thanks for the input. I do like the look of yours & road noise isn't too much if an issue I rarely exceed 40 where I am. 20-30 most of the time. Although cheap tyres are just that with regards to the insas. At least I'm assuming there cheapos

    Freelander 1 235 55 18 at3 on a Sport model.

Ah that's a very good point about them not being hubcentric :/ I'm quite a fan of the HSE 3 spoke type 17's but if I'm gonna lose my 18's I may as well go for 16's & chunkier tyres as opposed to the 1" gain with the 3 spoke. The idea of chunkier tyres is not only for my dog walks/trips to the...

    Freelander 1 235 55 18 at3 on a Sport model.

Firstly forgive me I know this topic has been done to death but I need a little updated info for my specific wheel size. Currently I have the 235 50 r18's on a Sport model but am after some chunkier tyres. The nearest to the size I can find is 235 "55" 18 AT3 & wondered if any modifications...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Gun gum bodge is holding, no more power loss. New coolant tank & Haynes manual received. It was only mot'd in may (before I owned it) & anti roll bars/joints/arms etc are rusted right out on wheel arch side. Not mentioned on advisories the only 1 was front discs. There's a twanging boiiiing...

Engine changed low rpm power loss

Ive no experience with these but had similar issue on a saab. Do you have to use your old ecu on an engine change or 1 from the new engine? Maybe different settings/Missing remap/egr if using a different 1. You mentioned a few differences so hopefully these were just missing parts as opposed...

Freelander 1 Newbie fed up with garages ripping me off

I was in the same boat but with a little help & advice I've managed to get hands on & do things myself. A service is a good place to start as far as learning goes imo. There are videos & plenty of help about.

Freelander 1 Does this fuel type filter go on my td4

I purchased a service kit a while back & they sent me this small fuel type filter. I have seen some have them along the upper firewall somewhere but I don't see one in mine. Is mine missing, hidden or not needed on my model. It's 04 td4. Thanks in advance

Freelander 1 Part id (egr related)

I initially thought it was an egr cooler pipe & blocking it caused the pressure to split the pipe as the egr kit i got came with the extra cooler blocking plates etc (apparently for my model) Either way my own fault. More research before jumping on items until I know what's what.

Freelander 1 Part id (egr related)

Ive put the default egr back on as if nothing else it supports the split metal pipe & holds it in place. I'm going to do a temporary repair & as the part gets extremely hot (melted my foil & gorilla tape bodge up) & am wondering if I should use a tad of gun gum then wrap in aluminium tape/extra...

    Freelander 1 Are 2004 Td4's OBDII compliant.

According to vin it is an 04. As I say it sends power & tries to connect but to no avail. I'll see if I have the radio code & if all else fails I may remove battery terminal for 10 mins or so. Providing this isn't an issue on Freelanders. Resetting things etc :/
