    Disco 2 Battery

Disconnect it and fully charge it. Leave it for a few days a and measure voltage. The result will be a new battery or a lengthy investigation by pulling fuses.

    Disco 1 Odd question really

Let us know how you get on. I was rooting in a scrap Disco a few weeks ago and managed to drop the fecking bonnet on my head!!!

    Disco 1 cruise control failed

It's probably the most unreliable part on a Disco. Try checking the vacuum pipes under the bonnet.

Disco 2 Perfomance intercooler worth it?

Speaking from a D1 point of view, yes it makes a big difference. Turning the question back to you, how's the heavy duty torque converter? Does it make a difference? Is it worth it? Ashcrofts?

It's Veltrim - used a lot by the VW T5 boys as van linings. Double sided trim tape. Seems okay so for. The ali box isn't any heavier than the standard trim.

    Disco 1 Windscreen rubbers

You don't need to take the glass out. I had a new screen a few years ago. The fitters took the trims off and binned them, cut the old screen out and cleaned the opening, put a new screen in with whatever black gunky stuff they use and pushed/ glued the trims on. A bit of suspension work. New OME springs all round. Radius arms blasted and re-painted. New galvanised spring seats and retainers. New Comfort Polybushes. General tidy up underneath.

Found a kindly soul, Malc Seward, through the Locks Heath Classic Car Club who was happy to weld the ends on for me. Plenty of filing and spray paint later and this is the end result.

The one job that had always bugged me after the re-spray was the rubbing strips. Could never get them sitting level, etc, etc. So, new plan. Ordered some ali box section from Germany as it was the only place I could get that size. 1mm disc and a quick test later - not looking too bad.
