    L322 L322 TDV8 electrical Gremlins

Interestingly I put it in low range to test it and the dash doesn’t flash now but I can’t get it out of low range for some reason.

    L322 L322 TDV8 electrical Gremlins

Ok so I’ve checked the alternator and battery and charged the battery over a few days with no difference. I’ve also replaced the abs with a know good unit from an identical car, no change at all. I’ve checked quite a few earths although still more to look at, any other things I could check...

    L322 L322 TDV8 electrical Gremlins

Oh ok, thanks Datatek, I’ll check the voltage later. I cleared loads of faults that mostly voltage issues and it’s got a new battery so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s at least partly down to battery/ alternator fault

    L322 L322 TDV8 electrical Gremlins

Have read an alternator can cause a flashing dash, I’ll test it but would expect a battery light to be showing if that was the case .

Would a faulty ABS ecu not cause an ABS fault on the dash? I only get this if a sensor is disconnected.

    L322 L322 TDV8 electrical Gremlins

I thought earth but when the dash goes off and on etc it’s very consistent, not like a loose wire or intermittent bad earth, it’s literally on, off, on, off. Is there a way to test the abs ecu? Do they have to be coded? I’m conscious that the previous owner threw money at new parts without...

    L322 L322 TDV8 electrical Gremlins

So after a few years without a Range Rover in my life I’ve gone and bought another. 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE with 166000 miles. Purchased with faults, I must be mad. On tickover all is good, revs nicely and only an adaptive light warning on the dash. Drive Evan an inch and the dash goes off and on and...

    Disco 2 2004 TD5 parking sensor issue

So I had a faulty parking sensor (no ticking) for quite a while, so every time I reversed I would get a constant beep. Decided to replace with a known used unit, fitted it today and I can now hear all 4 sensors ticking but still get the constant beep. Is there a reset or other procedure I need...

    Disco 2 Td5 rough idle

    Disco 2 Td5 rough idle

It’s a new to me car so not much idea on service history. There’s no signs of oil in loom and I had read that the last of the td5’s didn’t suffer from this but I stand to be corrected. It seems to be quite intermittent, does it more when I’m stationary in drive and less so in reverse. I

    Disco 2 Td5 rough idle

So my auto td5 has developed a rough idle, runs sweet once driving but as soo as it drops to idle the car shudders. No fault codes on Hawkeye and no oil in the loom or at ecu, car is a 2004 with 120,000 on the clock, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Disco 2 Strange fluid leak

That’s a thought. I’ll see if I can set fire to it. The liquid not the car.

    Disco 2 Strange fluid leak

Could be I guess although they have been sealed

    Disco 2 Strange fluid leak

Already got a tub underneath so will see what that catches, the ace unit is completely dry, all the connectors and any metal between it and the wet area, plus the ace liquid is red a I believe, this is clearly transparent and thin almost like diesel but it’s not.

    Disco 2 Strange fluid leak

It’s coming from the chassis by the ace block but not coming from it. Would of thought the air con condenser would be nearer the front

    Disco 2 Strange fluid leak

No I thought that and checked plus the fluid is very clear. I thought brake fluid but again the level is good, doesn’t get any worse when I run the engine either, plus it doesn’t feel as oily as brake fluid

    Disco 2 Strange fluid leak

So I was doing some jobs in my 2004 td5 today and I noticed a patch on the floor. Crawled u serenata and can see something very slowly dripping off the chassis, nothing wet anywhere nearby and can’t place what the substance is, definitely a clear oil of some kind but not diesel or brake fluid...

    Disco 2 Rusty chassis treatment

Hi all. Apologies I know this will have been covered many many times but have had a quick search and just comes up with rotten chassis and the need to be replaced. I’ve got a 2004 td5 with the usual rust on the chassis, it’s not totally rotten like many I’ve seen but does have lots of surface...
